Responsibilities:The senior accountant/analyst is responsible for applying accounting principles and procedures to analyze financial information, prepare accurate and timely financial reports and statements and ensure appropriate accounting control procedures.
- Compile and analyze financial information to prepare financial statements including monthly and annual accounts.
- Ensure financial records are maintained in compliance with accepted policies and procedures.
- Ensure all financial reporting deadlines are met.
- Prepare financial management reports.
- Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and year end close.
- Establish and monitor the implementation and maintenance of accounting and control procedures.
- Resolve accounting discrepancies and irregularities.
- Continuous support of budget and forecasted activities.
- Financial audit preparation and coordination.
- Ensure accurate and appropriate recording and analysis of revenues/expenses.
- Complete Account Reconciliations
- Assist with SOX Compliance
- Analyze and advise on business operations including revenue and expenditure trends.
- Analyze financial information to recommend or develop efficient use of resources and procedures, and provide strategic recommendations.
- Special projects as assigned.
The Senior Accountant/Analyst may specialize in one area of the accounting function. Additional specific tasks may include the following:
- Compile and analyze financial statements
- Prepare monthly and quarterly exhibits and schedules
- Calculate and prepare monthly journal entries
- Analysis monthly data
- Prepare required and requested reinsurance statistics and exhibits
- Prepare and file insurance regulatory reports
May perform other functions as assigned
Qualifications:- Five plus years of relevant accounting experience
- Knowledge of accepted accounting practices and principles
- Strong PC skills; proficiency in Microsoft Office products
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, analytical and problem-solving skills
- Demonstrated ability to improve work processes
- Ability to manage a special project team
- Team player with initiative

- B.S. Accounting or equivalent
