Assistant Teacher na Medford Public Schools

Requirements:

• Must work under the supervision of a Lead Teacher and be a contributing member of the classroom team. 

• Evidence of sufficient maturity and judgment to perform expected duties. 

• First Aid and CPR qualified.

• Willingness and interest in learning more about Early Childhood.

Responsibilities:

1. Responsible for accepting and following the philosophy of the center and programming techniques of the classroom teacher. 

2. Responsible for assisting in the daily planning and execution of all classroom and outdoor activities. 

3. Take sole responsibility for the group/classroom for short periods of time as necessary or in emergency situations. 

4. Adheres to the Health Care Policy in the Kids’ Corner's Handbook. This includes assisting with the ongoing maintenance of the classroom first aid boxes, and ensuring that the classroom and all equipment are safe for all children.

5. Assist in the care of the classroom equipment, supplies, and cleaning. 

6. May assist the lead teacher in relating each child's day at school with the parent on an informall or formal basis. 

7. Assist other staff in the cleaning of the center’s (toys, equipment, table surfaces, food areas, floor, vacuuming of carpets etc...) 

8. Inform the Lead Teacher of any valuable insights obtained from informal interactions with a caregiver.

9. Make authorized visitors and caregivers feel welcome in the classroom. 

Qualifications: High School Diploma or equivalent

Reports to: Classroom Lead Teacher, Kids Corner Director and Program Assistant 

Salary: As reflected in the MKCEA Contract
