WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
We are seeking a team member that can support achieving excellent secondary outcomes, including for college, career and military readiness, for students. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated impact on student outcomes, accelerating student growth, building strong systems anchored in multi-partner collaborations, building strong community relationships, and creating a culture of support and excellence.
You will help break down barriers for students. You will provide direct support to students (e.g., mentoring, advising, programming, case management) while working collaboratively across programs and staff to ensure student success. You will be a primary advocate for students working to ensure they get the resources and support needed to meet postsecondary outcomes. In addition, you will coach teachers and staff, as needed, to improve systems and programs for student success. You will have to be skilled in adaptive change management in a very fast environment.

QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Certification:
- Bachelor’s degree required; preferred in Education, Educational Leadership or related field; social work, or counseling
- Master’s degree preferred.
- Valid or eligible to receive Texas license in social work, school counseling or teaching
Experience:
- Minimum of three year’s teaching experience, social work experience, or school counseling experience
Special Knowledge and Skills
- Proven success in high school and post-secondary institutions
- Demonstrated impact with secondary students in graduation, college, career, and military readiness outcomes
- Deep knowledge of CCMR pathways, programs, resources, and assessments
- Knowledge of the CCMR processes, including applications, financial aid, scholarships, industry requirements, and certification exams.
- Proven experience to use and interpret data to inform decision-making processes that allow for intentional actions and lead to improved student/campus achievement
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills (written and oral)
- Strong organizational and consultation skills
- Experience with diverse populations
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
Self-Management
- Serve as a transformational team member working to create a best-in-class learning environment.

- Remain current on state and federal policies and regulations related to college, career, and military readiness and adapt practices to ensure compliance and alignment.
- Develop and set annual performance objectives.
Direct Student Supports
- Promote the expectation for high-level performance from staff and students and recognize excellence and achievement.
- Educate and assist school students in the college going process, including but not limited to: college applications, financial aid, and college entrance exams, through group presentations and/or one-to-one student advising.
- Support school students in the exploration of post-secondary institutions of higher education and admissions requirements.
- Educate and assist school students in the career process, including but not limited to: job applications, financial aid, and industry based certifications, through group presentations and/or one-to-one student advising.
- Assist students in exploring CCMR pathways, including Collegiate Programming, Career & Technical Education (CTE), Advanced Placement (AP), dual credit, and military readiness.
- Lead awareness and recruitment events such as:
- Financial Aid Kickoffs
- Decision Day announcements
- Scholarship celebrations in recognizing students receiving prestigious awards; recognitions at campus and/or school board.
- Facilitate ongoing opportunities for students to engage with college representatives, industry leaders, and military recruiters
- Support student completion of CCMR applications and financial aid requests:
- Track student college applications through Apply Texas Counselors’ Suite and update skyward information.
- Ensure all seniors apply to college, financial aid, and scholarships.
- Serve as a point of contact and liaison for college recruiters.
- Support district programming to enhance career pathways and certification programs.
- Support the scheduling, registration, and administration of college entrance exams; analyze and distribute test results as appropriate.
- Coordinate and support students in preparation for college readiness exams such as PSAT, SAT, ACT, TSI, ASVAB and AP exams, including scheduling, registration, and test preparation.
- Collaborate with counselors, teachers, and campus staff to ensure proper course sequencing and placement for students in CCMR-related programs.
- Utilize campus data for corrective action leading to improvement, as well as for recognition of success.
- Evaluate and adjust educational programs and approaches to ensure rapid student acceleration.
- Disaggregate and interpret data in order to assist in developing appropriate next steps for campus improvement.
- Support campus leaders in analyzing data and developing action plans to improve teaching and learning.
- Support the reduction of drop-out prevention and recovery efforts.
Financial Aid Supports
- Support student completion of financial aid requests:
- Develop and maintain accurate records of FAFSA/TASFA completion rates and scholarship applications at the campus and district levels, ensuring data is regularly updated and communicated to stakeholders
- Assist students in the interpretation and acceptance of financial aid packages for institutions of higher education.
- Provide workshops and one-on-one support for students and families to understand and complete financial aid forms, including guidance on interpreting financial aid award letters.
- Assist students in scholarship searches and applications.
- Collaborate with community organizations to offer additional financial aid resources and support.
Professional Learning Community (PLC’s)
- Lead, implement and support Professional Learning Communities (PLC’s) that create positive relationships amongst campus teams; identify trends, and develop action plans to address gaps in student outcomes.
- Ensure PLCs develop and improve educator, staff and team capacity.
- Design and deliver professional development sessions for campus staff on CCMR-related topics, including advising strategies, data analysis, and program implementation.
Culture & Climate
- Create and cultivate a culture of excellence, support, and community for all stakeholders.
- Develop and implement initiatives to foster a college-going and career-ready culture on campus by organizing events such as financial aid nights, college fairs, and military recruitment days.
- Plan and execute recognition events for CCMR-related student achievements, such as college acceptances, scholarships awarded, industry certifications earned, and military enlistments.
- Facilitate effective and timely resolution of conflicts.
- Identify, analyze, and apply research findings (e.g., effective school correlates) to promote school improvement and CCMR outcomes.
- Follow all policies, practices, and procedures that create optimal learning conditions for students with special needs in alignment with IDEA.
Personnel Management
- Serve as supervisor to person(s) completing practicum or internship through a college or University program (as assigned and as qualified for)
School or Community Relations
- Articulate the mission and purpose of CCMR outcomes to the community and solicit its support in realizing the mission.
- Educate parents about CCMR programs, pathways, opportunities and requirements.
- Develop and maintain partnerships with local colleges, universities, businesses, and military organizations to provide students with access to resources and opportunities.
- Perform casework service with parents to increase the parents’ understanding of their constructive participation in resolving their child’s academic problems and their knowledge and use of available and appropriate resources.
- Communicate with parents, families, and communities on a regular and consistent basis to ensure clear and consistent messaging to parents.
- Demonstrate awareness of school and community needs and initiate activities to meet those needs using appropriate and effective techniques to encourage community and parent involvement.
- Stay abreast of community resources that can support students with CCMR outcomes, making connections for students and families as needed.
- Coordinate with external partners to bring guest speakers, mentorship programs, and career exploration opportunities to campus.
Management of Fiscal, Administrative, and Facilities Functions
- Ensure all employees follow proper protocols to maintain accurate records as required
- Support campuses in completing all associated administrative duties and tasks in a timely manner
- Compile, maintain, and file all reports, records, and other documents required including accurate and timely reports.
- Comply with district policies, state and federal laws and regulations affecting schools.

Physical Demands
Typical demands of an office environment, including extensive computer use and district-wide travel for meetings and events. Lifting and carrying of books, boxes, and audiovisual equipment, light (15-20 pounds), climbing, stretching, visual acuity, walking, pulling, bending, stooping, climbing stairs, reaching, pushing, sitting, kneeling, standing, and twisting, may be required to control behavior through physical restraint.
Work Environment
Primarily office-based with regular interaction with district staff, educators, students, families, and community members. Campus visits will be required as needed and as a part of ensuring program implementation with fidelity and monitoring of service delivery models. Attendance at evening or weekend events may be required. Occasional prolonged and irregular hours.
Reading, supporting instruction, demonstrating computer skills appropriate for assignment, effective communication and interpersonal skills, ability to work well with students, concentration (detailed work), interpretive skills (policy, procedure, dates), reasoning skills, understanding verbal instructions, analyzing, differentiating, memorizing, coordinating, compiling, and computing.
