North Reading Middle School is seeking a part-time Title I Literacy Tutor for the 2025-2026 school year. North Reading Public Schools is actively looking to build a diverse workforce to ensure all students feel welcome, safe, and valued for who they are and supported to reach their potential.

 

This position is a part-time, temporary position of approximately 12 hours per week, not to exceed 480 hours for the school year.

 

Essential duties

  • Work with small groups of student in grades 6-8 to support literacy growth through inclusion and pull-out sessions
  • Reinforce ELA Frameworks and practices for targeted students
  • Document, collect data, and progress monitoring of student achievement
  • Utilize appropriate technology to aid students in the acquisition of knowledge, skill, and understanding
  • Other duties as assigned by Assistant Superintendent, Building Principal, and/or their Designee

 

 Requirements

  • Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education teaching license in ELA, Grades 5-12
  • Experience working with students, with direct content alignment preferred
  • Ability to collaborate and communicate clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing, to children and adults  
  • Citizenship, residency, or work visa required
