Medical Assistant
Location: Louisville, KYCareATC is looking for an independent and driven Medical Assistant for a full-time opportunity at the LG&E-AOC, providing Occupational Health with some primary care services! This opportunity is a full-time, benefit-eligible position, providing direct patient care in a health care setting, at onsite locations in Louisville, Trimble, and Ghent, Kentucky. This role will require travel to other area clinics. Mileage is reimbursed between sites. There are no nights or weekends!!
Hours: 32 hours per week
Schedule: Monday � Thursday 7:30 AM � 4:00 PM
Occupational Health experience is preferred

About This Opportunity: CareATC is currently looking for a Medical Assistant to work collaboratively with the staff providers at LG&E-AOC, Occupational Health, and Primary Care offices, as well as onsite services at LG&E Plant Clinic Locations. In an effort to provide exceptional patient/client satisfaction, the Medical Assistant will assist in daily administrative activities, performing Occupational Testing and assisting the provider with all patient visits.
The role of the Medical Assistant:
- Clerical responsibilities, appointment scheduling, and call/fax handling
- Greet patients, perform vitals.
- Performs workup for physical exams, patient triage, assisting/follow-up with PFT, EKG, and Audiograms as needed.
- Exhibit good clinical judgement within the scope of the role with or without the provider present.
- Follow all clinical and clerical protocols per company policy.
- Must be willing to travel to onsite clinic locations (no overnight stay required)
Minimum Qualifications
Education:

High school diploma or general equivalency diploma (GED) plus one of the following:
-
Medical Assistant certification or diploma from an accredited MA program

Or 1-year relevant work experience or on-the-job training in lieu of certification or diploma

Emergency Medical Technician
-
Military-trained medic

Experience:
-
Minimum one year of recent experience in a medical setting with Occupational training is strongly preferred.

Must possess a current BLS, CPR certification, and current health records with the appropriate documentation for immunizations to work in the healthcare field (hepatitis B and tuberculosis).
