e4c is seeking a dedicated Maintenance Associate to join our Facilities team. In this role, you will be responsible for the upkeep, repair, and safety inspections of various e4c-operated properties, including shelters, group homes, apartments, and main offices. Your work ensures that these environments are safe and well-maintained for both staff and the people we serve.
Key Responsibilities
Maintenance
- Maintain and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, heating, plumbing, and alarm systems.
- Complete major maintenance projects (e.g., painting, renovations) and minor repairs (e.g., screens, doors, drywall).
- Ensure knowledge of building and equipment specifications.
Administrative
- Purchase supplies and materials within approved budgets.
- Advise Maintenance Team Lead and Program Managers of upcoming building and maintenance issues.
What you bring to the team
- Completion of relevant technical/trade certifications (e.g., plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, power systems). Equivalencies may be considered.
- Completion of building operator certificate.
- Valid driver’s license, recent 5-year driver’s abstract, and access to a reliable, registered vehicle with $2M liability insurance (use of personal vehicle required).
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in general building repairs and maintenance.
- Hands-on experience with carpentry, drywall, plumbing, electrical, and painting is an asset.
- Proficient in the operation of small maintenance equipment (e.g., lawn mowers, snow blowers).
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
