Description

We are looking for an experienced Maintenance Technician to join the Mail Services, LLC. team. The Maintenance Technician will support daily work requests and projects through self-guided work as well as working as a team. Assists Technician Manager in the maintenance, repair, servicing, calibration, cleaning and operation of all mail processing, sorting, lettershop, printing and associated equipment.  Also assists in the training of operators, supervisors, and management on equipment issues, usage, and safety.  Maintenance Technicians perform work in a timely manner with an attention to detail and reports to the Maintenance Manager.

  1. Essential Duties and Responsibilities as a Maintenance Technician:
    • Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
    • Use wiring diagrams to plan and execute electrical repairs and installations.
    • Perform routine preventative equipment monitoring, troubleshooting, and service to ensure reliability and equipment uptime.
    • Diagnose, troubleshoot, maintain, and repair manufacturing process / production machines, automation equipment and related electrical equipment, such as electrical control circuits from 24v up to and including 480v AC, electro-mechanical test devices, instrumentation devices, PLCs / ladder logic controllers, and variable frequency drives as necessary.
    • Conduct electronic maintenance, cleaning and repair of the optical character readers including light sensors and fail-safe damage safety protectors.
    • Complete mechanical repair and schedules maintenance of all bearings, relays, electric motors, air compressors, and other mechanical equipment necessary in the operations of the business.
    • Maintain parts inventory and make recommendations on the purchase of parts to ensure continued operations of equipment.
    • Assists in the installation of software updates and completes all testing required for certification in a timely manner.
    • Assists in the installation, services, and repairs all computer and related equipment.
    • Maintains technician work area, offices, and other areas in a safe and clean environment.
    • Abides by all guidelines contained in the Employee Handbook.
    • Maintains positive customer, vendor, and employee relations.
    • Promotes proper Company image.
    • Maintains confidentiality of all information.
    • Keeps appropriate personnel, including Technician Manager and Division Managers, informed of all pertinent issues.

Qualifications


Education and/or Experience

    • High school diploma or general education diploma (GED); or six months to one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Skills

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. 

Computer Skills

  • To perform this job successfully, an individual should have basic computer and math knowledge.

Other Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.  Good organizational, communication, mechanical and technical skills.  Safe working habits.

Physical Demands

  • While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand and sit. The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 50 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision and depth perception.
