Automated Picking (AutoStore) Team Lead
The Automated Picking (AutoStore) Team Lead plays a crucial role in the daily operations of the Famous Supply Distribution Center. In this role, you will be an active daily participant in all AutoStore system functions. You will provide support and direction to Associates working within the automated picking system and collaborate with engineering and management to continuously improve processes. You will also support training and onboarding, act as a point person for problem solving and escalations, and make a critical impact on our business as a leader in automation.
Starting wage: $20/hour + based on experience
Primary Job Responsibilities:
Operating the AutoStore automated picking system
Loading, picking, packing, sorting, and pallet consolidation
Ensuring equipment is loaded properly and accurately
Training Associates under the guidance of Warehouse and Shift Managers
Ensuring best practices and safety protocols are followed
Collaborating with Engineering and Management to:
- Optimize system performance
- Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
- Identify and troubleshoot technical issues
Providing clear direction and expectations for all Associates
Supporting small projects and maintenance work
Cleaning and general upkeep of the AutoStore area
Handling products with care to prevent damage
Required Experience and Skills:
Strong communication and leadership skills
Problem-solving ability, especially in technical and operational contexts
1–3 years of Team Lead experience in a warehouse or automated system setting
Experience using warehouse equipment and automation systems
Strong integrity and reliability—you will help set the tone, energy, and expectations of Associates
Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs
Ability to stand on feet for the majority of an 8-hour day
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Experience and Skills:
3–5 years of experience in a warehouse setting with progressive responsibility in a Lead role
Experience with AutoStore or similar automated picking systems
Building industry experience and requisite product knowledge
Experience using RF scanners
Safety training
Forklift certification
