PRINCIPAL ACTIVITIES / OBJECTIVES:
- Respond to all network security alerts, including firmware updates for network systems and applications.
- Review firewall rules, network configuration, and recommend security enhancements.
- Perform security analysis, risk and threat assessments for network infrastructure and applications.
- Perform root-cause analysis on network security-related issues.
- Recommend security process improvements and execute recommendations based on best practices and regulatory requirements.
- Actively partner with other teams to ensure deployed solutions minimize network security concerns and privacy risks.
- Assist in identifying security risks and threats by participating in security reviews, evaluations, and risk assessments.
- Support and enforce network security standards, guidelines, processes, and procedures.
- Assess and remediate active exploits and malware infections company-wide with 24/7 incident response; coordinate with internal and external risk partners as appropriate.
- Baseline setting and implementation of network security tools; serve as IT Network Security SME.
- Support all compliance efforts (e.g., PCI, OCC, FFIEC, SOX).
- Associate’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a minimum of 4 years of network security or related IT experience.
- Security certifications such as CISSP, GSEC, GCFE, GCIA, GCIH, CCNP Security, CCNA Security, or equivalents preferred. Candidates without certifications must be willing to obtain one within 12 months of hire.
- Knowledge of network security technology industry, trends, and best practices for the financial industry; proven ability to stay current in these areas.
- Preferred knowledge of 802.1x, IDS/IPS, and Intrusion Prevention Systems.
- Effective research, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Willingness to assist with forensic root cause analysis.
- Ability to coordinate network security objectives through incident response and escalation processes.
- Excellent planning, time management, and prioritization skills; must be well organized.
- Working knowledge of SharePoint and Microsoft Office software.
- Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment.
