POSITION SUMMARY:

Direct full cycle recruiting and onboarding for Optometrists and Independent Doctors of Optometry. Identify and source ODs for current openings and future growth. Manage external recruiting resources. Direct doctor interview process. Lead campus recruiting strategy, including management of optometry school relationships. Partner with marketing team to develop brand appropriate employment marketing collateral and social recruiting efforts.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

SOURCE & ENGAGE CANDIDATES - BUILD TALENT PIPELINE

• Develop and execute comprehensive recruitment strategies for Optometrists and Independent Doctors of Optometry

• Collaborate with leadership to align recruiting efforts with organizational goals

• Lead internal and external recruiting efforts for identified priority openings

• Proactively develop talent pipelines to address current business trends and future growth

• Direct innovative sourcing and search methods

• Lead the development of creative and engaging hiring campaigns, including job postings and recruitment outreach materials

• Lead the process of building and maintaining a network of potential candidates through on-going relationship and contact information management

• Analyze and report on recruitment metrics to refine strategies and improve results

• Gather, analyze, and present competitive data and recommendations for best-in-class employment practices

• Stay current with optometry market trends and best practices to ensure competitive and effective recruitment strategies

CAMPUS OUTREACH

• Develop and maintain partnerships with optometry schools and professional networks

• Lead campus strategy including career fairs, interviews, and other partnerships

• Research, recommend and develop competitive programs to attract top talent, including student re-payment or tuition reimbursement

• Develop and manage programs to retain Fielmann USA opticians attending optometry schools

 

OPTOMETRIST HIRING & ONBOARDING

• Direct activities related to negotiating and presenting job offers

• Evaluate pay, benefit and PTO trends and present recommendations based on competitive analysis and candidate experiences

•Manage referral program

 

LEADERSHIP

• Primary contact and business partner on all initiatives related to OD Recruiting

• Partner and collaborate with cross functional teams such as HR Business Partners/Generalists, Compensation, Benefits, and Finance

• Direct staff to ensure effective talent sourcing and hiring processes

• Provide guidance to OD recruiting team to ensure a high level of service to internal and external stakeholders

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business, Communications or related field, or equivalent work experience

• 5+ years’ recruiting or retail health operations experience, preferably in a retail health industry

• Experience or knowledge of ophthalmology, optometry or the eye care industry

• Strong knowledge of applicant tracking systems (ATS)

• Knowledge of employment law desired

• Solid sourcing and internet search experience

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Able to work independently

• Able to work at all levels of the organization

• Solid organizational skills and attention to detail

• Strong problem-solving skills

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite of programs

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & WORK REQUIREMENTS:

• Ability to effectively communicate at all levels within the organization through written and two-way verbal communication

• Able to sit or stand for extended periods of time

• Able to operate various office equipment (e.g., personal computer, telephone, fax machine, copier, etc.)

• Able to read and write at a high school graduate level

• Able to lift 10 to 20 pounds

• Able to work normal and/or extended (evenings, nights, and weekends) office hours to meet established deadlines

• Able to travel independently to support Company objectives and personal development
