A Snapshot
As the FP&A manager based in Sydney, and working closely with the rest of the Finance team, you will make your mark in a number of ways. This is a young function looking to evolve and mature quickly meaning there’s broad scope to drive and shape what we deliver as a team:
- Build financial dashboards and reporting suites to deliver accurate, timely insights to senior leaders and drive fact based, data driven decisions.
- Develop, analyse, and help manage budgets and forecasts.
- Challenge existing reporting and processes to be efficient, effective and scalable (e.g. through automation) with a focus on long term, sustainable solutions.
- Assist in the implementation of new planning and forecasting tools and active involvement in evolution of the FP&A function.
- Partner with business stakeholders to deliver insightful cost reporting, support financial decisions, and present meaningful recommendations.
Your Day to Day
- Develop dashboard reporting of key financials’, KPI’s and other metrics to help key stakeholders monitor financial performance and make informed decisions.
- Continuous improvement of existing finance and business processes to drive efficiency and to achieve better outcomes.
- Analyse financial performance against budgets and forecasts, management reporting and providing meaningful insights to senior management.
- Prepare targeted analysis or “deep dives” into different areas of the business to increase transparency and identify insights into performance.
- Support strategic initiatives and help drive business growth and maturity.
- Key input to the annual budgeting process and quarterly reforecasts including:
- Gathering requirements and inputs from cost base owners and Executives.
- Collaborate with various departments to ensure alignment of financial and strategic goals.
- Analyse submissions to report on variances, using a finance lens to validate and interpret operational and corporate data.
- Partner with stakeholders in the business:
- Help them understand their cost base and progress against budget through insightful reporting.
- Support and challenge them in financial decision making.
- Proactively analyse the cost base and present insights including the “So What?”.
- Help manage AirTrunk’s liquidity requirements across jurisdictions including preparing cash flow / liquidity forecasts for our sites.
- Support other finance functions (Treasury and Corporate Development) in meeting their obligations to lenders and investors e.g. project reporting and validation of business case assumptions.
- Benefit from high exposure to senior leadership including the CEO and CFO.
Requirements
- CA, CIMA or CPA qualified.
- 7+ years of experience in FP&A or similar planning/ analytical function.
- Experienced in aggregating and analysing financial data sets and building insightful visualisation dashboards in Power BI or similar applications.
- Strong analytical mind-set and proficiency in financial forecasting through Excel based financial modelling and / or financial planning software .
- Ability to readily challenge and seek validation of the reasonableness of assumptions and inputs and be confident in asking “Why?” or “What-if?”.
- Able to produce high quality and clear reports and analysis; tailoring the detail/content for the situation and audience and articulating the story behind the numbers.
- Practical and commercial; and hold yourself accountable to take projects through to completion.
- Continuous improvement approach with the skills to develop systems and processes that are more efficient and effective and a general desire to innovate.
- Strong communicator able to extract and understand requirements from key partners and package a solution; building their trust by managing expectations and delivering on promises.
