JOB SUMMARY
Supervise Reset Merchandising Partners who perform merchandising resets and small fixture installations supporting new store construction and store remodels. Store fixture installations include floor fixtures and other store display equipment. Receives predetermined work assignments that are subject to a moderate level of control and review.
KEY RESPONSIBILITY & ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Supervises the work of Reset Merchandiser partners and follow up with different stakeholders as necessary. Check work as necessary to ensure planogram (POG) integrity.
- Supervise the crew during reset/remodel, meeting time expectations while maintaining work quality and safety.
- Acts as advisor to direct reports to resolve technical problems.
- Responsibility for hiring, termination, performance appraisals, and pay reviews. Communicates the state of the team (performance, operations, morale, department needs) to Leader.
- Develops and administers schedules. Sets day-to-day objectives for work team and ensures work is performed consistently within existing policies and procedures.
- Interacts daily with direct reports and peer leaders.
- Merchandises products effectively. Communicates with vendors.
- Works within established guidelines, processes, and procedures. May recommend improvements to achieve team goals. Providing input in managing costs related to the team/department.
- Ensure arrangement and placement of products on the shelves in accordance with blueprints and plan-o-grams (POGs).
- Uses technology and data to manage inventory and Product Shelf Assignments, tags, and POGs.
- Responsible for compliance with all safety program requirements
- Ensure partners are providing exemplary customer service at the stores:
- Greet customers.
- Guide them to the right section depending on their needs.
QUALIFICATIONS & KEY REQUIREMENTS
Directly supervises and advises hourly, entry-level hourly Partners, setting day-to-day objectives, assigning tasks, checking work at frequent intervals, pursuing effective processes, and maintaining schedules. Directs team to complete assignments using established guidelines, procedures, and policies. Work assignments are predetermined, limited in scope, follow established practices and procedures, and are subject to a moderate level of control and review. A portion of time is normally spent performing individual tasks related to the team/department.
Erroneous decisions or failure to achieve goals may impact team/department deadlines, resources, and/or results. May recommend improvements and manage costs.
Assists with managerial decisions and activities including hiring, firing, performance appraisals, and pay reviews.
Technical, vocational, or Bachelor's degree in a relevant field of education and/or relevant work experience. Completion of H-E-B Management / Leadership programs where applicable (i.e. SORM or ATL).
- Experience in all aspects merchandising using Plan-O-Grams.
- Previous Supervisory experience.
- Experience desired includes - home improvement stores, big box retail, pharmacy, planograms, national rollouts, remodel, basic gondola fixture parts knowledge, new stores, and experience with national racking standards for Gondola / Retail Fixture installation, a deep understanding of merchandising.
- Advanced understanding of fixture placement drawings and reading blueprint
- Computer skills including Microsoft Office software, H-E-B systems, and designated conference call systems.
- Applicants must have a valid driver's license. Must be able to travel to any US work location.
- Must have the knowledge of, and the ability to use hand tools including power tools.
- Must be able to work evenings and weekends and be out of town for extended periods of time if the work requires.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORKING CONDITIONS
- Ability to lift up to 86 pounds, reach, climb ladders, stand, bend, pull, push, twist, and kneel.
- Bending, squatting, extending arms upward and downward, standing for long periods at a time
- Work in hot/cold environments. Talk, hear, and see (including close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus)
- Must be able to travel.
- Must possess a personal vehicle, tools, and a checking account for direct deposit of pay.
- Must own a smart phone or tablet with minimum 2GB monthly data service plan and phone/tablet need to be no more than 2 OS versions behind the latest.
