GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF POSITION
The primary function of this service is to identify the financial needs of each member and recommend an appropriate Credit Union solution. In addition the position is responsible for handling all incoming bankruptcies.
Responsibilities:ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Complete documentation and process Chapter 7 and 13 bankruptcies upon receipt of bankruptcy notification.
- Document all bankruptcy notices and reaffirmations received on monthly bankruptcy report.
- Code all accounts for bankruptcy and also update credit bureau reporting.
- Print bankruptcy plans, schedules, and review each plan.
- Prepare and file all Chapter 13 claims online with bankruptcy court.
- Prepare and file all Chapter 7 reaffirmation agreements with the bankruptcy court.
- Prepare all paperwork and send to credit union attorney for actions needed to be filed on bankrupt accounts such as "relief of stay", "objections to confirmation of plans", etc.
- Write up and submit to Org Support to post all monthly bankruptcy payments.
- Monitor accounts in bankruptcy monthly and handle all follow up with the bankruptcy court.
- Handle all phone calls and follow up daily with attorneys.
- Assist with the phone queue when necessary.
- Respond to all incoming telephone calls from members or attorney having questions or concerns on their loans or accounts that are included in bankruptcy.
- Assist branches in providing supervisory overrides on collection coded transactions.
- Process the Department mail daily.
- Update a monthly Status in bankruptcy queue on all delinquent bankrupt loans.
- Submit account adjustments to the Contact Center when necessary.
- Assist Collections Support Manager as required.
- Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty mentioned satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
High school or GED, plus specialized schooling and/or on the job education in a specific skill area; e.g. data processing, clerical/administrative, equipment operation, etc, plus 2 years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
