Custody Administrator
Location : Sydney

 

Description

This is an exciting opportunity to provide direct support and administration functions to the Custody team and Custody client groups in a timely and efficient manner.

Job Specification:

  • Processing & instructing of client transactions – includes Fixed Income , Equities, FX

  • Collaborate with cash management to confirm proper funding for trades, manage deadlines for settlement, and escalate discrepancies for resolution

  • Maintain accurate audit trails and contribute to operational risk reduction initiatives

  • Review and approval of trade matching through IRESS & DTCC CTM

  • Liaising with Fund Managers and Custodians in order to ensure settlement of all transactions

  • Effective client communication, including responding to all client queries and requests in a timely manner

  • Review and approval of client instructions

  • Assist Management with the team’s daily workflow

  • Actively involved in process improvements and suggestions

  • Assist other operations teams during peak periods or when issues arise, including:

    - Reviewing reconciliation breaks and exception reports

    - Assisting with data validation for reporting teams

    - Performing spot checks on trade and position data for accuracy

  • Supporting investigations into settlement or reporting issues

  • Contribute to process improvement initiatives and cross-training to build team flexibility

  • Escalation point for team and clients to resolve issues

  • On the job training to other team members

  • Attend the weekly transition meetings when required

  • Attending custodian service reviews when required

 

Skills Required:

  • Advanced excel skills – VBA, Macros, vlookups etc

  • Tertiary qualifications in Finance, Business or Mathematics preferred.

  • Custody background

  • Fixed income, equities, FX and cash experience

  • Settlement’s experience

  • IRESS IOS/IOS+ experience

  • DTCC product suite CTM, ALERT Settlement Instruction Manager (SIM)

  • Understanding of SWIFT message types

  • High attention to detail, strong problem-solving, and effective communication skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines and adapt to urgent priorities.
