YOUR TASKS
In this position, you will conduct and complete an ongoing project on Fluorescence Lifetime Imaging (FLTI) in companion animals at the Department of Companion Animals, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine.
Your main tasks will be:
- Informing owners and including companion animals (dogs and cats) with surgically removable cancer in the ongoing FLTI projects.
- Conducting clinical studies related to FLTI.
- Processing the conducted studies on FLTI into publishable manuscripts.
- Contributing to the further development of the Veterinary Oncology Science and Surgery team.
- Supervising clinical master's theses.
- Contributing to activities for future grant applications regarding FLTI in companion animals.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
- You have a Master's degree in Veterinary Medicine. For degrees obtained outside the European Union, a certificate of equivalence from NARIC must be submitted. Diploma requirements must be met by date of appointment.
- You have clinical experience in conducting clinical trials on FLTI in companion animals.
- You have an interest in conducting clinically oriented research and possibly supervising it.
- You have excellent didactic, interpersonal and communication skills to work with others in a collegial team atmosphere.
- You have demonstrable experience that can contribute to the quality of practice-based teaching.
Considering the job content, there are high expectations in terms of social and organisational skills. The candidate must be able to work together as part of a team, must be able to communicate fluently with the owners and with staff from different disciplines and of different levels (specialists, veterinarians, veterinary assistants, technical staff and students) and must have the necessary flexibility and stress-resistance to change the sequence of tasks according to service needs. Being able to communicate fluently in Dutch (or willing to learn Dutch) and in English (or willing to learn English) is also a requirement.
WHAT WE CAN OFFER YOU
- We offer you a 80% contract of definite duration for a period of 3 months.
- Your contract will start on 1/10/2025 at the earliest.
- Your remuneration will be determined by salary scale WM1 to WM4 (if you hold a Master’s degree) or salary scale PD1 to PD4 (if you hold a doctorate). Click here for more information about our salary scales.
