Description
Operations
- Educate and train branch staff and field technicians on their job responsibilities.
- Maintain equipment inventory levels, create and submit orders of needed equipment to Inventory Coordinator.
- Maintain supply inventory levels, create and submit orders of needed supplies to the Inventory Coordinator.
- Maintain Oxygen Cylinder tracking logs. Make sure all staff is properly educated on the process.
- Review monthly cleaning with branch technicians.
- Make sure all new equipment received is identified and labeled correctly.
- Computer literate for accurate maintenance entries
- Schedule daily preventative maintenance into MST route
- Explore and propose new and improved approaches for saving time and money
- Oversees shipping related activities
- Explore and implement alternative cost saving opportunities
- Oversee facilities and maintenance requirements and ensure branch interior and exterior is maintained in the cleanest, safest, most efficient manner.
- Ability to fill in to other positions when needed.
- Manage staffing levels.
- Routinely monitor and manage sales and patient account reports
Equipment Operation
- Review equipment issues and coordinate with repair technician when needed.
- Provide instruction and education to the staff on proper techniques on storing and securing equipment.
- Obtain a return demonstration to ensure understanding.
- Educate on the proper way to transport, handle and route medical equipment according to company policies and procedures to comply with infection control, equipment maintenance, and safety.
- Educate branch staff on proper equipment operation.
- Review documentation of monthly and annual scheduled maintenance of equipment.
- Review maintenance schedule to make sure all equipment is serviced correctly and completely.
- Complete performance and safety checks on equipment at time of delivery.
- Responsible for respiratory management responsibilities and duties
- Strong & effective communication skills both verbally and written.
Safety
- Educate branch staff on safe and proper body mechanics relative to transporting, lifting and set-up of medical equipment.
- Review that field technicians adhere to all safety and security policy and procedures.
Vehicle Operation
- Educate and review that field technicians operate vehicles according to company policies and procedures to assure compliance with OSHA and DOT regulations.
- Perform daily visual inspections of vehicles to assure safety.
- Responsible for the cleaning and service notice of vehicles.
- Load and unload equipment safely to assure no damage or injury.
- Responsible for monthly fleet inspections.
Communication
- Present equipment education to a level of understanding by branch staff.
- Immediately report to the Operations Manager, equipment/staff issues and needs.
- Maintain accurate records in accordance with company policies and procedures, i.e. equipment service forms, vehicle reports, manifests.
- Share expertise with co-workers both formally and informally.
- Ability to mentor Field Technicians.
- Document all incidents and issues as required.
- Oversee team's ability to build and maintain rapport with internal and external customers.
- Receive equipment delivery requests via software system. Review equipment needs with RTs and families and provide necessary follow-up communication of customer service.
Professional Development
- Attend and participate in related Company meetings and/or committees.
- Attend and successfully complete oxygen concentrator operation/service programs.
- Completion of all required training.
- Perform other job duties as requested.
Other
- Schedule and follow through of Overnight Oximetry
- Schedule and follow through of Preventative Maintenance Inspections
- Perform on-call work as required.
- Maintain positive work relations with staff members.
- Demonstrate courteous behavior and be responsive to patients/families and other members of Owens.
- Maintain a neat and professional appearance wearing company uniform and name badge.
- Demonstrate and ensure a commitment to quality of service in all decisions to comply with Owens standards.
- Serve as a subject matter expert for product lines and related processes.
- Coordinate delivery times with patient/families, and schedule deliveries, pick-ups, and service by priority.
- Organize and route field technicians daily delivery.
- Organize daily branch operations, i.e. schedule STAT orders, dispatch of field technicians, return phone calls, and assist field technicians with patient/family and Owens staff communication.
- Function operations of branch within Federal, State, Local, Owens, and professional guidelines and regulations.
- Maintain the confidentiality of patients, families, colleagues and other sensitive situations with Owens.
- Maintain ongoing marketing support
- Assist in developing and implementing division strategic plan.
- Attain a clear understanding of industry standards and continue education in this area.
- Must be able to physically access any home, nursing home, ALF and hospital.
Requirements
Experience
- 3 years experience with related knowledge product line and customer service
- Knowledge of Durable Medical & Respiratory Equipment preferred
Education
- High School Diploma or equivalent
Licensure
- CA HMDR Exemptee License or obtain within 30 days of employment.
- Valid CA Drivers License with Clean DMV Record
Special Skills
- Elevated level of muti tasking, problem solving skills, employee coaching. Highly organized with the ability to prioritize and foster a collaborative team environment. Strong skills relating to Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Exel.
