RESPONSIBILITIES:

This position supervises the IT Services personnel, assets and activities involved in planning, designing, implementing, maintaining, monitoring and supporting key infrastructure environments including end-user hardware, software, and operating system platforms. The position has responsibility for ensuring all components of the technical infrastructure environments under their responsibility remain in compliance with standards and regulations, documentation is maintained, and the environments are efficient, effective, secure, available, reliable, recoverable, and scalable.  The position works closely with the Manager of Infrastructure and other IT / business leaders to set and execute both the short term tactical and longer-term strategic direction of the enterprises' technical infrastructure environments. Ultimately the position is responsible for understanding the goals, objectives and requirements of business units and ensuring the necessary technologies, standards, support, measures and metrics are implemented in the assigned infrastructure environment(s) under their responsibility to help achieve them.

 

Focus Technology: End-user hardware and software, conference room technology, enterprise print service, visitor management platform, IT Service Management (ITSM) platform, other infrastructure environment(s) and/or services.

  • Lead, supervise and develop the personnel and resources of the teams responsible for Focus Technology above.
  • Provide input into the strategic direction for enterprise environments under his/her responsibility ensuring alignment with current and future goals, objectives, and strategies of IT Services as well as the Hormel Foods enterprise. 
  • Drive tactical planning and execution to ensure the above Focus Technology meets operational needs and aligns with the strategic vision.
  • Architect, implement and manage environment(s) and/or services for Focus Technology.
  • Administer and maintain business critical enterprise infrastructure environment(s) and/or services for Focus Technology.
  • Ensure timely and effective support, issue resolution, and continuous improvement of infrastructure services for Focus Technology in collaboration with internal partners and vendors.
  • Manage relationships with key vendor partners, including oversight of service delivery, performance, and alignment with enterprise standards.
  • Participate in contract negotiations, renewals, and vendor evaluations to ensure cost-effective and high-quality service outcomes.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, innovation, and service excellence within the team.

 

QUALIFICATIONS: 

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Computer Information Systems, or a related field or 5 - 7 years’ experience engineering, deploying, and supporting enterprise infrastructure.
  • Proven experience leading exempt-level employees, including performance management, coaching, and team development.
  • Demonstrated hands-on technical expertise in Focus Technology, with prior experience functioning as a systems engineer or equivalent role.
  • Proven track record of initiative, technical innovation, problem-solving, decision-making, and project execution.
  • Excellent organizational, time management skills, well-developed written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven experience in collaboration with technical teams across the organization.
  • Ability to operate within a standards-based framework and navigate complex enterprise environments.
  • Must be a Citizen or National of the United States, a lawful, permanent resident, or have authorization to work in the United States. 
  • Applicants must not now, or in the future, require sponsorship for an employment visa. 

 

Preferred

  • Practical experience leading enterprise infrastructure initiatives across multiple domains (e.g., endpoint management, ITSM, A/V, print services).
  • Familiarity with Ivanti Neurons and Ivanti ITSM or similar ITSM and automation platforms.

 

LOCATION: Global Headquarters, Austin, MN 


A comprehensive relocation package to the Austin, MN area will be offered, if required.

 

At Hormel Foods, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. The base hiring pay range for the Infrastructure Team Lead role is between $117,175 - $164,050 per year, and your actual base pay within that range will depend upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, job-related knowledge, skill set, level of experience, and geographic market location.
