Who we are: Advanced Radiology Services is one of the largest physician-owned radiology practices in the country. Our practice includes 190 radiologists, 30 advanced practice providers, and 180 employees providing administrative support in our wholly owned subsidiary STARS. We value diversity on our team and promote a culture of inclusion.
What we do: ARS provides exclusive radiology services to more than 60 different sites across the state of Michigan including Corewell Health, Bronson Health and MyMichigan Health. Bronson is a 415 bed, non-profit teaching hospital that serves a 9-county region in southwest Michigan and northern Indiana. The Bronson Breast Health Center consistently has high patient satisfaction scores and was the first imaging center in southwest Michigan designated as a Breast Imaging Center of Excellence by the American College of Radiology (ACR). As part of Bronson's commitment to excellence, Breast Imaging Services which includes Breast Surgery, Medical Oncology and Radiation Oncology are accredited by the NAPBC. MyMichigan nonprofit health system is headquartered in Midland with 8 medical centers providing care to a 25 county region. MyMichigan provides a full continuum of care across a wide array of settings, including urgent care centers, home health, virtual care, and medical offices in more than 30 specialties and subspecialties including cardiology, family medicine, hematology/oncology, neurosciences, orthopedics, pediatrics, vascular surgery, and more.
What we are looking for: We are currently accepting applicants for an alternate track 5/9 (travel) breast imaging radiologist to cover multiple locations in Michigan as needed. This schedule will allow you to maximize your time off with a schedule of 5 days providing on site daytime coverage followed by 9 days off. The total number of required work days per year would be 130 (26 weeks) and number of days off would be 234. This is a partnership track position with no evening or weekend responsibilities, full compensation and benefits and travel expenses included. You may live where you desire but proximity to Alpena and Alma and willingness to travel will be important.
Work Sites: Locations will include Kalamazoo, Alpena and Alma. As described above, Bronson is a 415 bed, non-profit teaching hospital that serves a 9-county region in southwest Michigan and northern Indiana. Alpena is a 139-bed hospital on the shores of beautiful Lake Huron and Alma is a 107-bed teaching hospital serving central Michigan since 1955. Both MyMichigan sites are affiliated with the University of Michigan.
Responsibilities:
- Digital mammography, breast MRI, tomosynthesis, and breast ultrasound
- Stereotactic, ultrasound-guided and MRI-guided biopsies
- Image guided preoperative localizations- needle localization and wireless
- Participate in a weekly multi-disciplinary breast cancer conference (Bronson)

Why is our practice unique? ARS is a 100% physician owned and managed practice. We are committed to remaining independent. We are looking for entrepreneurial minded physicians who value involvement in decision making and developing our business strategy. Participation in section, committee and board meetings is not required but welcomed from day one. While we are an independent private practice, some of our physicians practice with an academic focus. Through affiliations with Michigan State University College of Medicine and Western Michigan University Homer Stryker School of Medicine, our radiologists have opportunities to teach and mentor residents and medical students as well as pursue research if desired. Due to the size and breadth of the healthcare systems we support, diagnostic volume and variety of clinical exposure is unrivaled.
Compensation/Benefits: We offer an outstanding compensation and benefit package. Our physicians pay “0” for single or family medical/dental/vision coverage and enjoy an 18K medical reimbursement account annually. We also contribute the maximum amount allowed to the 401K plan (70K in 2025) every year. We offer a one-year shareholder track for experienced physicians and a two-year track for those coming directly from training.
