Summary: Under supervision of the Director of Day Programs and Services, the Day Program Coordinator provides overall management, supervision, and coordination to the day program staff in delivering day program and services to participants.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Develops, manages, supervises and directs assigned day program(s), increase enrollment, and ensure that quality services are provided to program participants.
Ensures that assigned area(s) meet or exceed pertinent licensing regulations and accreditation guidelines.
Ensures that goals and objectives, legal rights, and safety standards are maintained for all day program participants.
Develops, implements, and ensures adherence to the budget for day program area(s) with oversight from supervisor.
Ensures that overall cleanliness and general maintenance of program areas and vehicles are maintained to minimize health and safety issues.
Develops and maintains close working relationships with staff, other STC departments, clients’ families/guardian, funding sources, other agencies, and referral sources.
Ensures that program participants’ records and record keeping systems meet CARF standards and other pertinent licensing agencies.
Provides supervision and guidance to program staff to ensure that quality services are provided to all program participants.
Schedules staff within the established budget and ensure adequate coverage for all program areas.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Agency Responsibilities:
Supports the strategic planning process and may assist in developing the initiatives to achieve the overall mission and vision of the organization.
Participates in organizational committees and meetings as appropriate.
Adheres to St. Coletta organizational or departmental policies and procedures.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Provides general supervision to program staff. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include: planning, assigning and directing work, addressing complaints, and resolving problems.
Requirements
Required Competencies: In addition to all DSP competencies at all levels.

• Ability to collaborate, motivate, and work effectively with all members of the organization and external stakeholders
• Demonstrated ability to support and develop DSP knowledge, skills, and abilities so they can fulfill current and future job/role responsibilities more effectively
• Ability to take initiative in identifying and addressing performance issues
• Ability to understand budgetary processes and apply that knowledge to provide input and monitor program budgets
• An understanding of program staffing requirements with the ability to schedule employees within budgeting, licensing, and organizational parameters

Education and/or Experience:
Must have a minimum of two years working experience with people with developmental disabilities. Preferred one year of supervisory or lead experience.
Language Skills:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
Mathematical Skills:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Computer Skills: Knowledge of Microsoft office program and other required St. Coletta computer programs such as ADP, Therap.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: None.
Driving Requirements:
This position requires that an employee is able to drive for work purposes and must maintain a valid driver’s license with a past driving record that meets the standards set forth by the agency.
