Accounts Receivable Representative – Medical Billing (Ophthalmology)
Location: Waterbury, CT (On-site, Monday–Friday, 8:00 am – 4:30 pm)

The Eye Care Group is seeking an experienced, results-driven Accounts Receivable Representative to join our high-volume Ophthalmology practice. Our centralized billing department supports four locations, and we need a seasoned professional who can own the AR process, drive claim resolution, and accelerate payment turnaround.

Requirements
- Resolve insurance and patient AR efficiently; expectation of 75–150 claims worked daily.
- Follow claims through the entire life cycle – from charge submission to final payment.
- Investigate and resolve rejected charges and denials.
- Collaborate with payers via portals and clearinghouses to expedite resolution.
- Conduct patient account and chart audits to ensure compliance and accuracy.
- Manage insurance prior authorizations claim denials, eligibility reviews, and assist with payment posting (ERA and manual).
- Assist with posting charges, scrub claims, and ensure timely and accurate charge submission
- Support the Revenue Cycle Director with special projects and compliance initiatives.
Qualifications
- Minimum 3+ years of medical billing and AR collections (private practice or specialty practice experience preferred).
- Ophthalmology billing knowledge is a plus.
- Strong understanding of medical coding, collections, denials, and authorizations.
- Analytical thinker with proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve payer issues.
- Excellent communication skills with payers, patients, and internal teams.
- Highly motivated, goal-oriented, and performance-driven.
- Proficient with insurance/clearinghouse websites; experience with Nextech Cloud and Trizetto preferred (not required).
- Able to pivot quickly and handle evolving daily priorities.

Schedule:
- In-office position: Monday to Friday, 8 am - 4:30 pm.
- Remote work is NOT an option.
