Job Title: Custodial/Inventory Manager
Supervisor: Director of Maintenance
Salary: Administrative Salary Schedule
Contract Length: 240-day
Job Summary:
Under the direction of the Director of Facilities, supports the custodial staff in the district. Coordinates training of both full time and substitute custodians and supports site administrators to ensures custodians are performing their jobs to district expectations. In addition, they will coordinate the inventory and disposal of district assets.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Custodians:
- Monitor custodial work across the district.
- Monitor time clock to assist principals and custodians.
- Monitor and help arrange for substitutes needed.
- Train custodian on safety.
- Train custodians on proper operations and processes.
- Assist principals with coordination of summer cleaning of schools.
- Make weekly visits to all custodians in the district to evaluate job performance.
- Work with the site administrators in setting hours and cleaning schedules.
- Work with vendors to ensure we have the best products for custodial staff to use.
- Arrange for the purchase and distribution of machines and chemicals to custodial staff.
- Coordinate with Warehouse Manager, participates in activities including the receipt, transfer, issuance, inventory, records and equipment.
- Process ordering of parts and supplies for Facilities and schools.
- Assists the warehouse manager and the Facilities department to establish and achieve appropriate supply.
Inventory:
- Coordinate with warehouse manager: Tags, Tracks, and records general fixed assets locations and provides additions and deletions information to purchasing assistant.
- Locate and tag district assets assigned to inventory.
- Perform a yearly inventory audit of all items in the district.
- Use the assigned district program to document yearly inventory.
- Use search engines to determine what products need to be found.
- Pickup and organize overstock items in the district.
- Prepare and conduct auctions of disposed items.

KNOWLEDGE OF:
- Relevant district policies and procedures.

- Basic purchasing policies, practices and terminology.

- Equipment and supplies used in a school system.
- GENERAL PRINCIPLES OF SUPERVISION AND TRAINING
ABILITY TO:
- Work on and with computers, knowing basic computer applications.
- Perform cleaning and other task.
- Be able to teach others their cleaning tasks.
- Operate cleaning equipment and use cleaning materials safely.
- Be able to teach others how to operate the equipment safely.
- Ability to repair and troubleshoot cleaning equipment.
- Understand can carry out oral and written instructions.
- Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships.
- Read, interpret and follow rules, regulations, policies and procedures.
- Read and write in English at a level of successful job performance.
- Drive and operate vehicles and equipment efficiently and safely.

- Work varied hours, early mornings or late evenings.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Five years of custodial experience or equivalent preferred.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
- Ability to read a limited number of two- and three-syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers. Ability to print and speak simple sentences.
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
- Ability to write simple correspondence.
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on one and small group situations.
- Spanish Speaker Preferred
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
REASONING ABILITY:
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where standardization exits.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
- Valid Drivers License
- OSHA 10 hour card
Physical Demands:
