The Enoch Pratt Library has an opening for a Delivery Driver to join our logistics team. The Delivery Driver will be responsible for transporting goods from between library branches. Drives vehicles such as automobiles, vans, buses, panel or pick-up trucks. Task may vary based on department.
This position will work Monday through Friday from 7am to 3pm and will require driving to library branches across Baltimore City.

Salary: $35,734 to $40,618 per year

Summary of Duties:
Drivers will sort, handle, load, and/or unload freight at various branch locations
Pickup and Delivery drivers typically work Monday-Friday
Operate vehicle safely within Pratt policy.
Conduct all pre and post-trip inspections of assigned equipment.
Understand and carry out oral or written instructions, including those on manifests and other shipping documents to determine the nature and amount of freight loaded.
Use safe handling and lifting procedures to load and unload freight with the assistance of hand trucks, pallet jacks and any other available equipment to move, load, arrange and rearrange freight.
Perform work required in a timely and safe manner.
Maintain adequate production in order to meet service schedules.
Provide professional representation of the company when in contact with public safety, law enforcement officials and the general public.
Minimum Qualifications:
Graduation from high school or possession of a GED certificate.
Possess valid a driver's license without any violations.
1 year of experience in delivery driving.
1 year of experience with customer service.
Must complete the Baltimore City Defensive Driving course within 1 year of employment.
Physical Requirements: Physical exertion such as standing; or recurring activities such as bending, crouching, reaching; pushing loaded book trucks; or recurring lifting of moderately heavy and bulky items such as boxes of books or journals.
Preferred Qualifications:
Commercial Driver’s License (CDL).
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Safely operate a commercial vehicle to deliver packages in a timely manner.
Load and unload packages from the delivery vehicle.
Follow delivery routes and schedules efficiently.
Communicate effectively with customer and colleagues.
Adhere to all traffic laws and safety regulations while driving.
Perform heavy lifting and moving of packages as needed.
Utilize communication skills to update delivery status and address any issues.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of delivery vehicle.
Demonstrate professionalism and reliability in all interactions with customer and team members.
Excellent customer service skills and professional manner.
Ability to pass pre-employment drug screening and background check.
Position of Trust: Those under final consideration for appointment will be required to authorize the release of and successfully complete a criminal conviction check.
Drug & Alcohol Testing: Those under final consideration for appointment will be required to submit to drug and alcohol testing.
