Pay Range:

 

Part time salary of $71,800 - $87,100 per year 

This pay range is a guideline. Individual compensation can vary based on factors unique to each candidate, such as skill set, experience and qualifications.


Position Summary:

 

This is a part-time role – .625 FTE.

The Clinical Pharmacist, Quality Programs will play a key role in improving Medicare Stars Rating and overall quality performance. This provider-facing role collaborates with the Quality Programs team in the operations of provider programs, engages with providers to drive performance through sharing actionable data, and enhances the overall quality of healthcare.

This role reports to the Director, Clinical Pharmacy with a dotted line to the Sr. Manager, Quality Programs.  

Essential Job Functions:

 

  • Analyze and interpret pharmacy-related quality measure data to identify areas of improvement and design targeted strategies to improve performance. Share pharmacy and non-pharmacy actionable data with providers and office staff to drive performance. 
  • Work directly with Providers and Quality Programs Partners to improve pharmacy-related quality measures, including but not limited to, medication adherence, statin use in certain populations, and high-risk medication usage.
  • Create and implement educational materials for providers and quality programs partners. 
  • Engage providers and office staff through in-person visits and remote communications (i.e. email, telephonic, virtual).  
  • Traveling to visit provider practices is required.  
  • Communicate new provider programs and field questions from the providers and their office staff related to said programs.  
  • Participate in quality improvement meetings and contribute to the development of educational materials (e.g., tip sheets, provider bulletins).
  • Participate in the onboarding of any new providers or practices that join the network. 
  • Perform complex medication therapy evaluations and make recommendations as needed.
  • Assist with onboarding practice, tracking deliverables, and escalating barriers as needed. 
  • Support management with projects as needed. 
  • Understand, adhere to, and implement the Company’s policies and procedures. 
  • Provide excellent customer services skills, including consistently displaying awareness and sensitivity to the needs of internal and/or external clients.  Proactively ensuring that these needs are met or exceeded.
  • Take personal responsibility for personal growth including acquiring new skills, knowledge, and information.
  • Engage in excellent communication which includes listening attentively and speaking professionally.
  • Set and complete challenging goals.
  • Demonstrate attention to detail and accuracy in work product.
  • Perform other duties as assigned. 

Travel

The position is hybrid with remote, in-office and field-based requirements. May require travel via own vehicle to provider offices. May require travel to Neighbor Islands.

 

Required Qualifications: 


  1. PharmD from an accredited school of pharmacy 
  2. Active pharmacist license in good standing in the state of Hawaii 
  3. 4+ years of clinical pharmacy experience. 
  4. 2+ years of managed care pharmacy experience. 
  5. Preferred BPS certification by the Board of Pharmacy Specialties in Pharmacotherapy and/or specific area of practice. 

 

Skills and Abilities:

  1. Ability to be a team player and exercise initiative in responding to provider requests and concerns in a helpful and courteous manner.
  2. Provider contracting and customer service techniques.
  3. General understanding of the health care industry, ideally the provider relations field-desired.
  4. Excellent interpersonal and telephone communication skills are required.
  5. Exercise attention to detail.
  6. Ability to work under pressure with minimal supervision, multi-task, complete projects in a timely fashion and meet deadlines a must.
  7. Excellent analytical, problem solving and organizational skills a must.
  8. Language Skills: Strong communication skills both written and verbal to work with multiple internal and external clients in a fast-paced environment.
  9. Mathematical Skills: Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
  10. Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems.  
  11. Computer Skills: Ability to create and maintain documents using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
