We are looking for a number cruncher that possesses strong analytical skills with high attention to detail. We need a team player with savvy communication abilities (both verbal and written) and excellent interpersonal skills. Strong technology skills are also critical for this position, particularly expertise with Microsoft Excel, as the candidate will be dealing with multiple projects using excel spreadsheets.

what the role looks like:
The Budget Analyst will support the budget, forecast, and reporting needs of the organization. Partner with Accounting, Procurement, and departmental heads to forecast and monitor organizational spending to help meet the company’s financial goals. Other job functions for this position includes:
- Participate in the administration of budgets, planning and forecasting activities, and month-end closing procedures
- Assist in the preparation of scheduled and ad hoc financial reports including the monthly operating expense / capitalized expenditure run rate and variance analysis
- Review and approve purchase requisitions for accuracy, completeness, and alignment with the budget, forecast, and strategic priorities
- Work with all levels of the company to become an internal expert on our organization’s cost drivers as well as key operational components
- Able to identify cost-saving opportunities and make recommendations for implementation
- Performs data and variance analysis and alert management for any unplanned major expenditures
- Assists in the creation of monthly and annual forecasts and financial reporting
- Perform other duties that may be assigned from time to time

- Strong sense of accountability; be self-motivated, positive, and professional in approach and able to work independently and within a team
- Results driven with proven problem solving and critical thinking skills, and the ability to effectively read, write and give oral presentation(s).
- Strong organization skills with an ability to prioritize and plan work activities, uses time efficiently, organizes or schedules other people and their tasks, in a fast-paced environment
- Organizational support – ability to follow company policies and procedures in accordance with contract/agreement(s) and Company Goals, completes administrative tasks thoroughly, accurately, promptly, and efficiently as possible with respect to human resources, financial management and profitability.
- Technical skills –constantly strives to increase technical knowledge to improve training tools through latest product knowledge, industry knowledge, and research.
- Decision making – makes sound, well informed, fact-based decisions and seeks guidance when needed

This is
what you need to have:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration
- Minimum of one (1) year related working experience
- Must have strong numerical and analytical skills with attention to details
- Strong verbal and written communication and documentation skills
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment with many priority changes working on multiple projects simultaneously; reliably adhere to deadlines.
- Discretion in handling sensitive and confidential information.
- Must be proficient with MS Excel, MS Word, and PowerPoint presentations
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office preferably with specific expertise in Excel.
- Regular, punctual, and consistent attendance
- Must be able to work any shift and weekends, variable schedule(s) as necessary to meet the needs and goals of the business
- Experience with grant budgeting or infrastructure project finance is a plus
