Position Summary:
Drew University’s Educational Opportunity Scholars (EOS) Program seeks a collaborative and mission-aligned Program Coordinator to support the effective delivery, management, and ongoing growth of the EOF program. Reporting to the EOS Director and working closely with the Senior Counselor and Assistant Director, the Program Coordinator plays a critical role in navigating university systems, monitoring budgets, enhancing student programming, and advancing student success through academic advising, mentorship, and writing support. This is a ten (10) month, part-time, non-exempt position.
This role requires a strong communicator and student advocate with the ability to analyze complex data, provide constructive feedback, and support student learning outcomes—especially in academic writing and critical thinking.
Key Responsibilities:
Budget & Fiscal Oversight
- Monitor and track program expenditures in compliance with NJ EOF guidelines and institutional policies.
- Prepare and submit financial reports and documentation to state and university stakeholders.
- Collaborate with university finance personnel to ensure budget accuracy and grant compliance.
Program Coordination & Institutional Navigation
- Coordinate workshops, events, and EOS programming, including orientation, academic enrichment, and cultural engagement activities.
- Navigate and utilize institutional systems (e.g., Banner) to support student tracking, communications, and academic records.
- Manage program schedules, communications, and logistical operations.
Academic Advising, Mentorship & Student Support
- Provide individualized academic advising and mentoring to EOS students.
- Help students develop effective learning strategies and academic plans aligned with their goals.
- Foster a supportive, inclusive environment that promotes student engagement, retention, and graduation.
Writing Support & Learning Development
- Assist students in developing strong academic writing skills across disciplines.
- Provide thoughtful, detailed, and constructive feedback on student writing assignments and program submissions.
- Offer guidance in revising and organizing complex ideas, supporting students' critical thinking and communication development.
Curriculum & Program Development
- Assist in contributing to curriculum planning and instructional design for summer institute, academic-year workshops, and co-curricular offerings.
- Assist in supporting the assessment of program effectiveness and learning outcomes to ensure continuous improvement.
Information Assessment & Reporting
- Assist in analyzing complex data related to student performance, program outcomes, and compliance requirements.
- Assist in the preparation of accurate reports, summaries, and data visualizations for state and university stakeholders.
- Assist in the support of grant writing, annual reporting, and evaluation processes.
Collaboration & Team Engagement
- Work closely with EOS colleagues and campus departments to align services and resources.
- Represent the EOS program on institutional committees and at statewide EOS meetings as appropriate.
- Participate in professional development, training, and outreach initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred in Higher Education, Counseling, Social Work, English, or related field.
- 2–3 years of experience in higher education, student support services, or program coordination; experience with EOF or equity-based programs preferred.
- Strong skills in academic advising, mentorship, and student advocacy.
- Ability to assess complex information and provide clear, actionable, and constructive feedback to students.
- Demonstrated ability to support academic writing development in a one-on-one or small group setting.
- Familiarity with higher education data systems (e.g., Banner) and Microsoft Office/Google Workspace.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Working Conditions:
- Occasional evening and weekend hours may be required for EOS/F events and student support.
- Hybrid work arrangements may be available, subject to institutional policy.
