Job Title: Credit & Collections Analyst

Pay & FSLA Status: Competitive Compensation, D.O.E.; Hourly non-exempt

Regular Schedule & Shift: Monday - Friday, Day shift

Regular Weekly Hours: Full-time/40 hours per week (overtime as needed)

Paid Time Off (PTO): 80 hours accrued year 1; 120 hours accrued annually after year 1

Paid Sick Time: 40 hours annually

Branch Location: Corporate office in Wilsonville, OR; Hybrid flexible

 

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Credit & Collections Analyst monitors and maintains customer accounts in adherence to company credit policies and procedures. This position will also be responsible for building strong relationships with customers, resolving customer account issues, and minimizing past due amounts

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Analyze and manage an assigned portfolio of customer accounts.
  • Monitor and collect on past-due balances while maintaining strong customer relationships.
  • Release and approve orders for shipment based on account status.
  • Collaborate with sales teams in branches in our service area to resolve customer account issues.
  • Maintain excellent public relations and interact with sales, customers, and colleagues in a respectful and professional manner.
  • Research and resolve discrepancies, chargebacks, account claims, and related matters.
  • Communicate and enforce credit policies, ensuring consistent application of OrePac’s terms and conditions.
  • Perform regular aging reviews.
  • Assist internal auditors with account reconciliation processes.
  • Manage credit file retention in compliance with company record-keeping policies.
  • Utilize spreadsheets for reporting and decision-making.
  • Participate in special projects and other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • NACM certification is preferred, but not required.
  • Proven ability to manage collections while upholding excellent customer service standards.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook. 
  • Familiarity with Windows-based ERP systems is preferred, but not required.
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and spreadsheet analysis skills.
  • Ability to prioritize, re-prioritize as necessary, and meet multiple deadlines through-out the day efficiently and effectively with minimal supervision and a positive attitude. Must be flexible and ready to adapt within a fast-paced working environment while maintaining quality results.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, dependability, and personal accountability.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Professional demeanor and communication skills, both written and verbal.

REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree or 5 years of credit experience.
  • Any combination of education, training, or experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position will be accepted in place of the education and/or experience requirements listed for this role.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Regularly required to see, talk, and hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, the ability to adjust focus, and peripheral vision.
  • Ability to lift files, open filing cabinets, and bend or stand on a stool as necessary.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • The noise level in the work environment is generally quiet.
  • This position operates in a professional office environment. 
  • This position routinely uses standard office equipment such as laptop computers, photocopiers, and smartphones. 

DRESS CODE:

  • Report all incidents and accidents to one’s immediate supervisor immediately or within 24 hours.
  • Maintain the work area in a safe and healthful condition.
  • Report, and whenever possible correct, unsafe working conditions to branch leadership.
  • Operate vehicles while in the course of employment in a safe and lawful manner.
  • Provide assistance to reduce or eliminate workplace hazards.
  • Comply with company drug testing policies and procedures.
  • Comply with company Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) policies. OrePac will provide required PPE to employees.
