Summary/Objective
Support Supervisor duties and directly leads production line operators with daily tasks, ensuring the operations area meet the daily activities.


Key Performance Indicators
· Ensures all employees are following all safety requirements.

· Ensures all employees are trained and following Work Instructions, Visual Operating Sheets, and Quality checklists to ensure the product is made to standards.

· Allocates available manpower for critical processes to meet production needs.

· Monitors daily efficiency and available manpower. In charge of planning extended hours as needed.


Essential Functions
· Performs all duties normally associated with assigned production line and/or warehouse operations.

· Maintains up-to-date knowledge of product and equipment performance.

· Interacts professionally with other department supervisors and lead professionals.

· Sets up and oversees machines and equipment for daily operations and performs production/warehouse duties as needed.

· Able to instruct and perform minor troubleshooting to detect problems and recommend changes in production process.

· Reviews and resolves operational, manufacturing, and maintenance problems within department.

· Assigns work and trains the daily activities of production personnel

· Prepares operational schedules and coordinates manufacturing activities

· Informs department manager of any personnel issues.

· Assists manager in administrative functions (i.e. - recordkeeping on employees) and maintains a clean and safe department.

· Leads 5S and Kaizen initiatives

· Train new employees in proper work techniques and follows-up to ensure performance standards are met.

· May assign projects and monitor the quality and efficiency of production/warehouse associates.

· May access computer for inquiries on material usage/demand.

· Other duties as needed and directed by the manager.

 

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
· Able to use basic hand and power air tools.

· Mechanically inclined for troubleshooting and resolving problems.

· Good organizational and communication skills required.

· Able to read and understand procedures and engineering drawings.

· Requires previous experience in assigned vocation/trade.

· Lifting required (up to 30 pounds)

· Able to stand for up to 8 hours

· Supervisory skills a plus.

· Other duties and assignments as needed and directed by Supervisor or Department Manager

· Knowledge of Lancer Quality Systems.


· Excellent oral and written communication skills with a demonstrated ability to interact effectively with individuals at all levels in the organization required.

· Strong organizational skills and ability to handle multiple tasks required.

· Some lifting required.


Education & Experience
· H.S. Diploma or G.E.D. equivalency preferred.

· Previous experience in a manufacturing environment required.


Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals and vibration. The employee is exposed to outside weather conditions at the manufacturing site. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing for up to 8 hours, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling and climbing all day. The employee frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee must frequently lift and move items up to 30 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
