Summary:
Responsible for the provision of safe and client engaging non-emergency client transportation to outpatient/residential treatment clients. The transporter will provide a caring environment for non-emergency clients while providing transport service appropriate for the needs of the client. Represent the spirit of Southeastern Life Center, with its primary focus on removing the barriers to recovery for the clients we serve.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist patients in and out of vehicles.
- Ensuring patients are comfortable and safe during transit.
- Monitor the scheduling system for transport requests and complete them timely.
- Maintain accurate daily logs and obtain beneficiaries’ signatures to verify the service provided.
- Maintain positive and professional relationships with patients.
- Respect and protect patient confidence and patient confidentiality by keeping all sensitive and patient information private.
- Conduct risk assessment to assess hazards, then implement safe systems of work to reduce risks to yourself, patients, and other persons involved.
- Complete a vehicle check before every shift to assess any maintenance issues.
- Report all accidents or incidents in accordance with the organization's policies.
- Utilize various electronic systems required by the agency and payor.
- Ensure vehicles maintain adequate fuel for service delivery.
- Report defects and deficiencies of the vehicle and equipment, and replace all items of vehicle inventory used
- Report facts concerning accidents or incidents to control and hospital personnel in accordance with the organizational policy
- Take part in staff development programs and/or undertake further training if and when required opportunities
- Comply with the data protection measures and do not disclose personal information regarding patients or other employees to unauthorized personnel.
- Other duties as assigned
Supervisory Responsibilities:
This position does not oversee staff.
Qualifications:

Education/Experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Valid/clean North Carolina driver's license.
Required Skills/Abilities
- Exceptional driving skills.

- Ability to utilize conflict management skills
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
- CPR, first aid, NCI and/or role-related certification within 3 months of hire.
- CPR, first aid, NCI and/or role related certification
- PASS Basic certificate CTAA training
- PASS Wheelchair certificate Hands On training required with certified trainer within 90 days
- Defensive Driving certificate
- Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)
- Emergency Procedures for Vehicle Operations
- Illegal Drug Use
