Wisconsin Center District Job Description – Marketing Manager
Position Overview: Reporting to the Vice President of Marketing and Communications, the Marketing Manager strategizes and implements marketing plans for a variety of internal stakeholders and for events which occur in Miller High Life Theatre, UW-Milwaukee Panther Arena and Baird Center. This includes preparing and executing marketing plans, analysing and creating reports on the success of marketing campaigns, building strong relationships with advertising vendors and coordinating event logistics.
Responsibilities:
• Work with the Vice President of Marketing and Communications and the WCD Sales Team to create and execute unique marketing plans with specific KPIs resulting in increased awareness and RFPs for meetings and convention-related verticals; including meetings, assemblies, seminars, trade shows, consumer shows, weddings, galas and special events.
• Collaborate with the WCD Corporate Sponsorship Team to ideate, develop and execute unique marketing plans with defined KPIs that drive awareness and support the corporate partnership, advertising strategy and event branding initiatives. Cross-departmental efforts will include campaign creative briefing, project management, execution of external digital and social collateral, and the development of innovative sponsorship assets.
• Leverage marketing data and request department input to generate bold campaign ideas that elevate visibility, drive demand, and deliver ROI. Prepare and present quarterly reports detailing the effectiveness of marketing campaigns and offer suggestions on campaign pivots if needed.
• Leverage relationships with partners and vendors to execute marketing plans. Media mix includes radio, print, web, social, digital, outdoor, TV, email and other emerging technologies.
• Provide marketing support during WCD client events throughout the year across all facilities and at offsite venues when needed.
• Collaborate with sales and sponsorship teams to identify gaps by vertical and proactively develop targeted campaigns to support pipeline growth.
• Monitor the WCD’s four websites for accuracy and update as needed.
• Participate in the planning and execution of WCD events as needed, especially as they are related to human resources, sales or corporate partnership networking initiatives.
• Work in conjunction with a counterpart at Visit Milwaukee to ensure seamless execution of communications and marketing plans.
• Maintain awareness of Visit Milwaukee meetings and conventions marketing campaigns to ensure cohesive messaging and WCD representation on the road, in print and online.
• Other responsibilities and duties as assigned by management, to ensure the effective utilization of the company’s resources and to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Bring a creative, pitch-ready mindset to each campaign.
Skills & Qualifications:
• Strong project management and organizational skills in which attention to detail and the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks/projects on time is essential.
• Exceptional communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively with all stakeholders (internal and external); excellent situation adaptability.
• Exceptional interpersonal skills, both written and verbal with the ability to navigate organizations to build relationships and garner support; ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
• Ability to work independently and efficiently; exercise initiative, resourcefulness and good judgement.
• Flexible and comfortable working under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work flexible and irregular hours that may vary due to functions and may include day, evening, weekends, and holidays as event calendar or deadlines dictate.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English; perform basic mathematical functions (add, subtract, multiply and divide).
• Follow oral and written instructions and communicate effectively with others in both oral and written form.

Education & Experience:
• Required
o Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
o Five (5) to seven (7) years of experience with marketing and sales, preferably in the hospitality industry.
o Proficient in the use of the Microsoft Office Suite of Products: Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, Teams and Planner.
• Preferred
o Experience using marketing campaign management tools such as Google Analytics, Hubspot, Adobe Analytics and Tableau.
o Previous experience with a hotel, sports team and/or convention center or at an ad agency.
