Job Description

A MILITARY STAR Ambassador possesses the qualities, attitude, work-ethic and commitment to support, train and mentor other colleagues about MILITARY STAR. We’re looking for someone who can be enthusiastic about the benefits. An Ambassador should be outgoing, confident, communicate well and thrive in a team environment.

Essential Functions
  • Conduct in-store training sessions focused on best practices of engaging customers and increasing approved applications.
  • Inform customers about the card’s benefits and how it impacts their shopping experience.
  • Train a team and host tabling events at various locations on the installation.
  • Track MILITARY STAR sales and applications; develop a plan to address underperforming areas.
Requirements
  • Responsible for planning, coordinating and executing support for promotions related to the MILITARY STAR card anywhere on the installation.
  • Demonstrate knowledge regarding the benefits of the credit card in order to drive sales growth and increase customer loyalty.
  • Excellent communication skills and the capability to connect with customers.
  • Greet customers and process new MILITARY STAR accounts at main stores, expresses, branch and restaurant operations.
  • Knowledgeable of Account Services and RPOS
  • Provide new hire training or refresher training to associates about the MILITARY STAR program.
  • Network and build trusting relationships with command, speak to groups on the installation.
  • Attend installation newcomers meetings.
  • Serves as store level branding expert for MILITARY STAR.
  • Works with the Visual Merchandising team to ensure brand consistency.

  • Must be willing to work some evenings, weekends and occasional overnights.

Qualifications
  •  Sales and/or marketing experience: 0-2 years
  •  Education: Associates degree or higher preferred, HS Diploma required
  •  Excellent verbal/written communication skills
  •  Demonstrate willingness and potential for additional responsibility
  •  Valid Driver License, if driving is essential in job duties

Major Duties

Provides high level of customer satisfaction through excellent service. Greets each customer upon contact and/or line of sight. Keeps their needs foremost and creates a welcoming environment, actively engages, and builds trust relationship with the customer in order to deliver a personalized customer experience.
Provides superior sales skills to serve the customer, utilizes and adheres to merchandise presentation standards including, but not limited to, arranging space on sales floor, displaying promotional fixtures, merchandise and signing, completing counts on promotional merchandise, manual price change vouchers, keeping sales area fully stocked, and cleanliness of the area.
Actively communicates/promotes the benefits of Military Star credit card, Exchange protection plan, and other corporate programs to customers to drive sales growth and increased customer brand loyalty.
May assist in maintaining shelf labels. Performs random price verification and initiates necessary corrective action. May provide assistance to customers with completing special orders, online orders, and rain checks.
May operate a cash register or other sales related equipment to enter new accounts, conduct sales, refunds, or similar transactions. May be required to verify and accept multiple tenders for payment and make change with accuracy and zero variance tolerance.
Assures compliance with fire, safety, sanitation, and security regulations, as well as ensuring the security of fixed assets, cash, and inventory. Practices loss prevention procedures and alerts security and management of potential problems that may involve fraud, waste, and abuse.
Performs other duties as assigned.
