The Antepartum Registrar obtains all pertinent patient demographics and insurance verifications, signatures/consents on registration documents, scans information into patient charts, submit order entries for charge capture.
Responsibilities:
- Answers multiple phone lines and responds to caller's questions and makes appointments for the appropriate office and doctor.
- Greets visitors; responds to questions, provides information, documents, and instructions to patients and physicians.
-Distributes incoming mail
- Maintains inventory of supplies and prepares a list of supplies to be ordered.
-Scans pertinent patient information into EMR.
Required Experience:
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and customer service skills required as well as knowledge of Ob/Gyn.
- Detail oriented, strong organizational and time management skills are essential
- Proficiency with hospital mainframe systems, including various web-based insurance sites.
- Experience with web-based insurance verification systems is required.
- Knowledge and previous experience with insurance verification and registration are most preferably in the medical setting required.
- Previous experience working in the medical field preferred.
- Previous registration experience preferred
- Strong computer skills: knowledge/experience with hospital mainframe /EMR systems required.
- Experience with high patient volume/diversified patient population.
- Demonstrates professionalism in dealing with patients, family members, and co-workers alike. Works well under pressure.
Education Requirements:
- HS Diploma/GED required; some college courses preferred.
- Computer proficiency required.
Monday - Friday 8a-4p
Salary Range: $24.717/hr - $26.031/hr
