Description
KCARC is seeking applications for a Cutting Room Supervisor position. This is a Full-time onsite position.
Responsible for entire cutting room and shade mark area from a quality, efficiency and safety standpoint as well as leadership, organization and cost controls.
Essential Duties
- Perform quality control inspections on all fabric as received.
- Manage fabric inventory to ensure that all fabric that has been received is accounted for.
- Work with the Manufacturing Manager on all fabric shading issues to ensure uniform color during production.
- Cut goods as directed by Manufacturing Manager ensuring quality of cuts to size.
- Document and track material usage as well as rejected material.
- Maintain and store hard patterns and markers in safe place.
- Communicate with the Cutting Room facilitator to improve production flow, increase fabric yield, minimize recuts, and create a work flow utilizing the automated design and cutting equipment.
- Spread material on table, using appropriate methods to ensure best yield and quality.
- Inspect and monitor for fabric quality defects during cutting operation.
- Control scrap, rework, and regraded goods and identify so as not to enter production stream.
- Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on all cutting room equipment. Inform the Manufacturing Manager when consumable items and repair parts are required.
- Assist the Manufacturing Manager and Manufacturing Coordinator in the research, planning, and implementation of new products or projects.
- Train all new personnel to ensure efficiency, accuracy, and quality of work.
- Follow Agency attendance policy.
- Follow Manufacturing Manager’s instructions
- Maintain the cleanliness of the cutting room area.
- Responsible for receiving raw materials.
- All other duties deemed necessary.
- Maybe required to frequently lift and move up to 50 pounds and if required lift up to 100 pounds with assistance.
- Additional hours if needed are mandatory.

Education and or Experience:
High School Diploma or equivalent is required. Experience in needle trades cutting processes preferred. Previous experience in supervisory and leadership roles required.
