Job Title: Senior Financial Accountant – FP&A Focus
Location: Central Florida
Reports to: Controller
Status: Full Time/Exempt
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Senior Financial Accountant with strong FP&A capabilities to join our dynamic finance team. This role blends traditional accounting responsibilities with advanced financial planning and analysis. The ideal candidate will possess a solid foundation in accounting principles, advanced financial modeling skills, and proficiency in data analysis tools. You’ll play a key role in monthly close processes, financial reporting, and strategic planning initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
Accounting & Financial Reporting
· Prepare monthly journal entries and reclassifications per the closing schedule.
· Reconcile assigned general ledger accounts and maintain accruals, prepaid expenses, and deferred revenue.
· Conduct variance analysis against prior periods, budgets, and forecasts, and document findings.
· Assist in year-end audit preparation including confirmations, reconciliations, and schedules.
· Manage fixed assets, direct cost analysis, and capital project costing.
· Support capital expenditure budgeting and monthly ledger distribution to department leaders.
· Document assigned ledger accounts with research analysis and commentary for month-end review.
· Shared responsibility for purchase order creation and approval for inventory items.
· Download monthly ledger statements and book necessary reclassifications or adjustments.
· Any other ad hoc requests.
FP&A & Strategic Analysis
· Develop and maintain complex financial models for forecasting, budgeting, and long-term planning.
· Analyze financial results and provide clear, data-driven insights to senior leadership.
· Collaborate cross-functionally to gather inputs and validate assumptions.
· Prepare and present dashboards, KPIs, and financial reports.
· Provide ad hoc analysis and scenario modeling for strategic initiatives.
· Continuously improve financial processes and tools for efficiency and accuracy.
Qualifications:
Education & Experience
· Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Computer Science, or related field (MBA, CPA, or CFA a plus).
· Minimum 3 years of progressive experience in accounting and FP&A roles.
Technical Skills
· Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, complex formulas).
· Experience with Microsoft Dynamics SL (preferred).
· Proficiency in data analysis tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or SQL.
· Familiarity with GL, A/P, A/R, Fixed Assets, and Inventory modules.
Other Skills
· Strong problem-solving and critical thinking abilities.
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
· Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
· Experience with cloud-based platforms like Snowflake (preferred).
· Industry experience in Telecom or recurring revenue models (a plus).
· Must be able to pass a background check and drug screening.
