Hours: Between the hours of 7:00 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. Monday- Friday, 40 hours per week
The Processing Assistant for the dental program supports clinical and community activities by handling customer service, data entry, word processing, and performing clerical duties.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Greets and registers patients and visitors
- Interviews clients and obtains financial information, medical and personal data
- Ensures confidentiality of data, obtains necessary signatures for release of confidential data
- Maintains dental appointment schedule within specified scheduling guidelines
- Provides orientation to new patients
- Maintains working knowledge of NC Medicaid, NC Tracks, iDentalSoft software and common insurance plans
Education/Experience: Graduation from high school or equivalent. Experience in a medical or dental setting required. Associate degree or higher preferred. DA I or DA II experience preferred. Fluency in English and Spanish preferred.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Must have excellent customer service skills
- Thorough knowledge of standard office practices, procedures, equipment and office assistance techniques
- Knowledge of business English, spelling, and arithmetic
- Ability to follow and apply policies and procedures
- Must be able to type at a reasonable rate of speed
- Ability to communicate effectively and to maintain effective working relationships with clients, community partners, school administrative staff, nurses and the general public
