About the Department

Pitt Community College is seeking a CTE Success and Completion Coach to help increase student credential attainment by providing proactive outreach, personalized support, and data-informed guidance to students who are near program or credential completion. This grant-funded role focuses on identifying students who are eligible for earned credentials, assisting those who are close to finishing their programs, and connecting them with the resources necessary to overcome barriers to graduation.

The Completion Coach will collaborate closely with CTE Deans, Student Development Services (SDS), Advising, and Academic Affairs to monitor progress, facilitate credential awarding, and support students in reaching their academic and career goals.

This is a TIME-LIMTED, GRANT FUNDED POSITION

Position Duties

What You’ll Do

  • Identify near-completer students using institutional data, degree audits, and transcript evaluations.
  • Collaborate with Records, Advising, and academic departments to confirm and award earned credentials.
  • Provide proactive outreach to students close to completion, including inactive or stopped-out students.
  • Develop individualized graduation and credential completion plans with students.
  • Monitor academic progress using degree audit tools, early alert systems, and student information systems.
  • Serve as a liaison between students and campus offices such as Financial Aid, Registrar, and Academic Affairs.
  • Support reverse transfer and stackable credential initiatives to maximize student credit and prior learning.
  • Document student interactions and outcomes in compliance with FERPA.
  • Assist with student success campaigns and outreach to alumni without degrees.
  • Prepare accurate admissions, retention, and completion reports as requested.

Other Qualifications

What We’re Looking For

  • Associate’s degree or Bachelor’s degree in administration, counseling, education, or a related field.
  • 2–3 years of professional experience in a community college or higher education setting.
  • Strong attention to detail in evaluating student progress and degree requirements.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Commitment to supporting diverse student populations and advancing equity in credential attainment.
  • Experience in academic advising, degree auditing, or student success coaching.
  • Proficiency with student information and advising systems (e.g., Colleague, DegreeWorks, Starfish, Navigate).
  • Familiarity with community college structure, guided pathways, and stackable credential initiatives.
