Position Description

A non-tenure position reporting directly to the Accelerated BSN Program Director, who provides clinical teaching support for the Accelerated BSN Program by performing professional level work at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center by conducting classes on a per-course or limited-term basis, without any guarantee of continuing employment. Responsibilities encompass the coordination and instruction of one or more courses within a prescribed curriculum. Teachers in this classification usually specialize in the academic subject, professional discipline or technical skill being taught at the time of employment. Work is performed under general supervision with evaluation based upon results obtained. May supervise subordinate employees assigned to area of responsibility.

Major/Essential Functions

  • Assists with clinical instruction and/or evaluation in a specified clinical area or in the simulation lab, as assigned.
  • Provides feedback to faculty regarding student performance and learning achievements.
  • Provides subject matter expertise on course content, as assigned.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support the academic mission of the Health Sciences Center and the School of Nursing.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Doctoral degree in Nursing preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in baccalaureate nursing education preferred to teach at the baccalaureate level.
  • Awareness of current issues/trends in nursing and higher education.
