OVERVIEW:

Manhattan University, an NCAA Division I institution and member of the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC), is seeking applications for the position of Associate Head Men�s Lacrosse Coach. The Associate Head Coach supports the NCAA Division I Men�s Lacrosse program by recruiting and developing qualified student-athletes, supervising assistant coaches, and managing daily operations.

The Associate Head Coach is expected to uphold the academic mission of Manhattan University by recruiting, supporting, and retaining student-athletes who excel both in the classroom and on the field. The program must be conducted in compliance with all institutional, MAAC, and NCAA rules and regulations. This is an in person on campus non - remote position.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist the Head Coach in planning, organizing, and administering all aspects of the Men�s Lacrosse program.

  • Recruit and retain student-athletes who will be competitive within the MAAC and committed to academic success.

  • Oversee assistant coaches, support staff, and day-to-day program operations.

  • Scout opponents, develop competitive strategies, and prepare game plans.

  • Serve as liaison with academic support services, admissions, compliance, and athletic training staff.

  • Coordinate film breakdown, video edits, statistical analysis, and technology integration.

  • Assist with scheduling practices, games, team travel, and logistics.

  • Manage equipment, uniforms, and apparel in coordination with department staff and vendors.

  • Foster a positive team culture emphasizing leadership, accountability, and sportsmanship.

  • Represent Manhattan University and the Men�s Lacrosse program at alumni, fundraising, and community engagement events as assigned.

Alumni Relations & Leadership Development

  • Lead the Alumni Networking Pilot Program to connect alumni with current students
    student-athletes for career mentorship and networking opportunities.

  • Plan and execute Alumni events throughout fall and spring semesters.

  • Oversee Collective, Fundraising, and NIL Initiatives, including annual Giving Day.

  • Organize and install leadership development training sessions for the program using
    external resources and internal resources on campus.

NIL Education and Compliance
  • Design and implement NIL education programs, including personal branding, entrepreneurship, social media strategy, and financial literacy.

  • Provide educational support, mentorship, and career guidance for student-athletes related to NIL opportunities.

  • Liaise with the Compliance Office, Athletic Communications, and legal counsel to provide accurate guidance on NIL issues.

  • Conduct educational workshops in collaboration with campus partners and external consultants to expand NIL opportunities and knowledge

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor�s degree required; Master�s degree preferred.

  • Minimum: 3 years of full-time collegiate coaching experience, preferably at the Division I level.

  • In-depth knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations with a strong commitment to compliance.

  • Demonstrated success in recruiting and developing student-athletes.

  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.

  • Ability to foster positive relationships with student-athletes, coaches, staff, faculty, alumni, and community members.

  • Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.

  • Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and travel extensively as required.

  • Possession of a valid driver�s license.
