The Infrastructure Specialist position reports to the Corporate Director of Information Technology and is responsible for providing on-going maintenance of all companywide technology platforms and provides escalated technical support of hardware, applications, operating systems, and networking. This position requires a broad understanding of a variety of technologies to effectively support the technology infrastructure of New Vista. This position is specialized in the support and management of the technology infrastructure of the organization and all related issues, including server support, access audit logs, network systems, and storage support. Other duties include but are not limited to analysis and research into technology solutions to address New Vista’s challenges, recommendation of such solutions to the Director, development of testing plans and carrying out the implementation of solutions. This position may provide routine and non-routine escalated support for all end user technologies, if the IT Support Analyst and Specialist require assistance. In-depth support and involvement in more narrowly defined areas of technology will be required. In those cases, the Infrastructure Specialist is expected to document and share that knowledge with his/her peers. This position supports organization wide Information Technology efforts to create the conditions for all employees to give their best each day, committed to the organization’s goals and values, motivated to contribute to organizational success and ready to grow professionally.
Required Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Technology studies and five or more years of experience in technical roles OR
- Associate’s Degree in Technology studies and ten or more years of experience in technical roles
- Must have a valid driver’s license, reliable operating transportation, and proof of current auto insurance
Preferred Education and Experience
- Industry accepted certifications, documented education in related area, or related experience, which can include but be not limited to:
- Microsoft Active Directory and Group Policies
- Microsoft Exchange Server Management
- Microsoft SharePoint
- VMWare Vcenter
- Microsoft Hyper-V
- Cisco Catalyst, Nexus, and Meraki
- Firewall and Security appliances and software

- Manage and Support IT Infrastructure for all of New Vista
- Manage Desktop User and Network User Account (Active Directory, etc.)
- Create and Manage Login Scripts
- Manage Group Policies
- Manage Remote / VPN User Access
- Configure, Manage, and Troubleshoot IT Hardware:
- Exchange Servers
- Windows Servers
- Storage Systems
- VMWare / Virtualization Environments
- Data Center Equipment
- Enterprise networks including firewalls and wireless networks
- Antivirus Systems
- Manage and Perform Server Backups
- Creates training documentation for Tier 1 and 2 support teams and end users
- Develops, designs, implements, and oversees the infrastructure of a company's information center.
- Analyzes a company's computer and communications system, and identifies components that could be altered to better suit the company's needs.
- Conducts complex technical evaluation and design review, and proposes essential changes in performance adjustments, physical architecture, infrastructure design. Installs, configures, monitors, and maintains applications with IT infrastructure.
- Conducts long-range strategic plans of IT infrastructure along with operational aspects of application execution within the infrastructure.
- Serves as Project Manager for Projects affecting the IT Infrastructure
- Establish and maintain system testing policies
- Researches and assists in future planning and designs for all technology related systems for the organization.
