Hands of Heartland is looking for compassionate and caring individuals to join our team and provide support to the individuals we support as a Direct Support Professionals (DSP) for the Bellevue day centers.
Location: Bellevue, NE
What You’ll Do: Work directly with individuals with developmental disabilities in a variety of settings to ensure they have a meaningful life. As a DSP you will assist individuals with day to day living activities and developing skills in a community setting.
Hours: 8am-4pm Monday - Friday
Skillset Needed for the Job: Ability to work independently in a fast paced, team-oriented environment. Flexible and willing to adapt to change. Know the value of communication. Desire to support people and encourage them to reach goals. Understand the importance of documentation.

Requirements: Must be 18 years old. Must have a valid driver’s license. Experience not required – we will train you!
Pay: Starting pay is $16 an hour. We pay more for experience and CNA license.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Responsible for creating a safe, positive, and encouraging atmosphere for the people we support.
- Provide services to address the wants and needs of people with developmental disabilities, which may include:
- Supporting personal goals
- Facilitating activities that provide people with socialization and connections to the community
- Engaging participation in recreation, social, and skill-building activities
- Transporting individuals to appointments, community outings, or other destinations
- Assisting with activities of daily living, such as, feeding, bathing, dressing, grooming, etc.
- Reinforcing therapies, including speech, behavioral support, and physical therapy
- Administering medications and other medical treatment as delegated by an HOH nurse
- Maintaining knowledge of each person’s specialized needs
- Ensure each individuals’ rights are protected and they are treated with dignity and respect.
- Ensure documentation is completed accurately and in a timely manner, including but not limited to individual plan data, behavior plan data, community integration logs, assessments, individual funds requests, mileage logs, maintenance requests forms, and supply acquisition forms
- Keep day center interior and exterior clean, organized, and tidy.
- Complete all other duties as assigned
Education & Experience
- Must have a valid driver’s license and clear driving record
- Current automobile insurance
- Ability to pass registry and background checks
