Position Details:
- Full-Time

Key Responsibilities
- Self-identify (e.g., verbally, in writing, signage, titles on name badges, etc.) as an SLPA to students, school teams, families, staff, and others;
- Assist licensed Speech-Language Pathologists in the implementation of treatment plans.
- Conduct individual or group therapy sessions under supervision.
- Document client performance and progress during therapy sessions.
- Implement documented care plans or protocols (e.g., individualized education plan [IEP], individualized family service plan [IFSP], treatment plan) developed and directed by the supervising SLP;
- develop and implement activities and materials for teaching and practice of skills to address the goals of the student, patient, client, and family per the plan of care developed by the supervising SLP;
- Under supervision of an SLP assist in preparing appropriate documentation related to present levels and goals and present information at IEP meetings.
- Assists with data collection and the assessment of students’ abilities in articulation, language, voice, and fluency.
- Assists the SLP in supporting classroom teachers to aid in the maintenance of an adequate learning environment to facilitate the achievement of speech and language goals. Monitors the use of Alternative and Augmentative Communication (AAC) devices.
- Assists the SLP to educate staff through consultation training and direct collaborative therapy activities related to IEP goals.
- Attend parent or IEP meetings as an observer
- Coordinate with counselors, occupational therapists, teachers, and other relevant professionals to ensure LAS activities and progress on goals are carried over and sustained in the classroom.
- Provide parents with regular updates on student progress and recommendations for support they can provide at home.
- Meet expected productivity levels as determined by The Help Group
- Maintain client charts in a responsible manner and meet all documentation, billing and data entry deadlines as set forth by the agency and/or its funding districts.
- Comply with the Help Group guidelines and policies.
- Maintain client information in a confidential manner.
- Comply with applicable professional licensing or certification requirements and ethical standards.
- Arrange work schedule of required hours to the benefit of the school and clients, with the approval of the Director of School Based Clinical Director in collaboration with the supervising SLP *This job description reflects management's assignment
Qualifications
- Previous experience working in a speech-language therapy setting.
- Familiarity with speech therapy tools and software.
- Strong organizational and documentation skills.
- Cultural sensitivity and abilities to assist diverse client populations.
- Understanding of special education regulations and practices.
- Certification or licensure as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant.
- Associate's degree in Speech-Language Pathology Assisting or related field.
- Completion of a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant certification program.
- Basic understanding of speech and language disorders.
- Ability to follow direction and implement therapy plans.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to FERPA regulations.
- CPR certification may be required.

The salary range represents the low and high end of the salary someone in this role may earn as an employee of The Help Group. Salaries will vary based on various factors, including but not limited to, professional and academic experience, certification, training, responsibilities of the position, and other business and organizational needs. The range listed is just one component of our total compensation package for employees. Salary decisions are dependent on the circumstances of each hire.
