POSITION PURPOSE
Responsible for performing Member Solutions activities associated with total loss claims. Responsible for helping minimize the Credit Union's losses from total loss claims and handling all calls from members that have total loss claims. Negotiates total loss payment with the insurance company and member. Assists member in filling GAP claims and applying for any dealer product refunds. Ensures that the Credit Union's professional image is maintained.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & BASIC DUTIES
  • Takes phone calls from members for total loss claims and from agents when the member's vehicle has been deemed as a total loss.
  • Assist members in processing the total loss claims with their insurance company and guides them from start to finish of the process.
  • Files GAP claims on behalf of the members. 
  • Assists members in resolving any unpaid balance resulting from the total loss. 
  • Helps members resolve issues from any complications that may arise from a total loss.
  • Posts total loss checks to loans. 
  • Releases liens and sends lien release letters to insurance companies.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Certification:
High school graduate or equivalent.

Required Knowledge: 
Knowledge of Member Solutions (Collections) procedures and related laws and regulations.

Experience Required:
Previous Member Solutions (Collections) experience with a full-service financial institution helpful.


Skills/Abilities:
Accuracy and thoroughness in work.
Excellent communication, telephone, and public relations skills.
Ability to work well independently.
Ability to work well in stressful situations.
Ability to operate related computer applications and other business equipment including calculator, copy machine, printer, telephone, and fax machine.
