Responsible for gathering information and taking each file from pre-approval to closing. Input proper loan information into the system for processing. Responsible for ensuring that all loan documentation is complete, accurate, verified, and complies with company policies. Verifies loan documents including income, credit, appraisal, and title insurance. Prepares application for submittal to underwriting. Reviews file documentation and makes sure all items needed are requested. Performs any additional duties as assigned by management.
- Processes applications and verifies accuracy for first mortgage loans.
- Conducts loan interviews with members when necessary; Follows-up to obtain any documentation.
- Provides all applicable disclosures for both fixed and variable rate loans.
- Processes loans to include verification of employment, deposit amounts, and all liabilities in order to prepare application of verified information.
- Obtains copies of current homeowner's insurance and flood insurance (if applicable) and ensures the mortgage clause is in favor of the Credit Union.
- Establishes repayment and interest schedule based upon loan guidelines and rates.
High school graduate or equivalent.
Understanding of mortgage loan processing functions, including FHA/VA and conventional lending.
Knowledge of mortgage related requirements, procedures, and underwriting criteria.
Experience Required:
Five to Eight years of similar or related experience.
Skills/Abilities:
Excellent communication, telephone, and public relations skills.
Strong typing skills.
Good basic math skills.
Ability to use related computer applications.
Well organized and detail oriented.
Ability to multitask and operate under extreme pressure and deadlines.
