This role is responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for precast concrete products and infrastructure projects. This role involves analyzing project specifications, blueprints, and customer requirements to calculate materials and production costs. This role works closely with the sales, engineering, and manufacturing teams to ensure estimates are aligned with company capabilities and customer expectations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following, but are not limited to:
- Follows health and environmental safety guidelines/procedures set for this role, including but not limited to wearing proper PPE and not operating any equipment or machinery the Team Members have not been trained to operate.
- Follows the environmental health & safety Guidelines and procedures set for this role.
- Supports the sales team with proposals, tracking costs, and calculating the final budgets for projects.
- Operates with a strong orientation towards customer service while managing internal and external stakeholder expectations
- Responsible for preparing and submitting quotations and proposals to our customers.
- Prepares and handles material take off at the beginning of projects as well as maintaining updated quotations based on addendums and plan changes.
- Solicits quotes from vendors for accessories and materials used in bidding.
- Works with teams in all markets to maintain quotations for contractors bidding work in locations outside of normal scope.
- Escalates any issues or potential issues between stakeholder groups to provide seamless service to our customers.
- Works closely with the project coordination team to prioritize and focus on customer expectations.
- Any other duties assigned by the immediate supervisor or a senior member of the management team necessary for the operations of the department and the business.
EDUCATION
BS degree or associate degree and five years of experience in a business, construction or manufacturing related field, preferred but not required.
EXPERIENCE
One to three years of experience in a construction environment and estimating role. Must have knowledge and comprehension of civil construction.
