Responsibilities

 

The Junior Systems Administrator will report to the Systems Manager and manage all IT systems, including Active Directory, Azure, physical and virtual servers, network storage devices, backups, and Windows Updates. This person will install, maintain, and update the system hardware and software to maintain system availability and security. Note: 

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities  

  • Fully support, configure, maintain, and upgrade the system components and associated infrastructure. This includes servers, storage devices, physical PCs and other devices as defined by the Systems Administrator. 
  • Coordinate with fellow peers whenever deploying new hardware. Work together on any networking needs or concerns. 
  • Keep an eye out for needed updates to physical hardware or PC software that could include vulnerabilities. 
  • Support and administer third-party applications from a system perspective. 
  • Assist Systems Administrator with maintaining licensing and software needs. 
  • Research Windows Updates for any potential problems. After approving the updates, work with users to apply them to company computers. 
  • Assistant SME for Active Directory and Azure. 
  • Systems Administration of all virtual and VM platforms. 
  • Resolve problems reported by end users. This may not always encompass system hardware or software. The goal of the KidsCare TechTeam should be to resolve end-user challenges regardless of IT domain. 
  • Define system policies and procedures that correlate with C.A.R.E. company initiatives. 
  • Research and recommend server system configurations to Systems Administrator and Network Engineer/Junior Network Administrator. 
  • Support and mentor L1 helpdesk staff as needed by the Helpdesk Manager. This may include times of doing the job as previously outlined as L2.
  • Continuing education to grow knowledge on system management and domain security. 
  • Comply with all company policies, practices, and procedures. 
  • Other duties as assigned. 

Qualifications

Other Qualifications and Skills  

  • Knowledge of basic computer hardware. 
  • Prior experience with desktop and server operating systems, including Windows OS. 
  • Prior application support experience preferred. 
  • Working knowledge of diagnostic utilities. 
  • Excellent Customer Service skills. 
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.

 

Education and Work Experience Requirements 

  • College Degree or equivalent experience preferred. 
  • Microsoft Azure Fundamentals or Microsoft Azure Administrator certification required.
  • CompTIA Server+ or equivalent experience required.
  • Understanding of Linux preferred.
  • Four to six (4-6) years of field-related experience preferred.
  • One (1) year of helpdesk support experience preferred.
