Job Summary: JCCA is seeking a part-time licensed psychologist to provide high-quality clinical services to youth and families, along with supervision for doctoral-level psychology trainees. This hybrid role involves evidence-based therapy, comprehensive psychological assessments, and opportunities for leadership and program development. The psychologist will work both on-site at our Bronx office and in a hybrid capacity. As part of JCCA’s Behavioral Health and Wellness Division, the psychologist will contribute to culturally responsive, trauma-informed care within a social justice framework.

Responsibilities:

Clinical Interventions:

  • Provide individual, dyadic, and group therapy to children and adolescents in foster care and/or the community.
  • Offer conjoint/collateral therapy to support discharge planning, as needed.
  • Develop and facilitate support groups for youth, families, and staff.
  • Conduct psychological assessments, including administration, scoring, and interpretation of cognitive, achievement, projective, adaptive, and neuropsychological measures (as appropriate).
  • Maintain timely clinical documentation for therapy and assessments for billing purposes.
  • Deliver assessment feedback to interdisciplinary teams and clients.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support permanency planning.
  • Provide crisis intervention and assist with psychiatric hospitalizations as needed.

 

Supervision and Leadership:

  • Supervise APA doctoral interns and externs in clinical and assessment work.
  • Review and approve supervisee clinical documentation for billing compliance.
  • Participate in program evaluation and development of APA-accredited training programs.
  • Attend and support recruitment efforts such as internship and externship fairs.
  • Review applications and participate in the selection process for interns and externs.

 

Training:

  • Lead training seminars for staff and psychology trainees.
  • Develop and deliver clinical training to staff, parents, foster parents, and youth.

 

Administrative Responsibilities:

  • Attend case conferences and other relevant administrative meetings.
  • Participate in agency-wide psychology department meetings (quarterly).
  • Attend weekly meetings with the Foster Home Services psychology team.
  • Adhere to OMH and OCFS regulations, including A29i compliance.
  • Report weekly to the Director of Psychology regarding clinical cases, supervision, and program updates.

 

Qualifications:

  • Doctoral degree in Clinical, Counseling, or School Psychology from an APA-accredited program.
  • Licensed as a Psychologist in New York State.

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience providing therapy and psychological assessments.
  • Salary is commensurate with years of licensure in New York State, with structured increases based on licensure duration.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and writing skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse populations and across disciplines.
  • Technological proficiency and comfort with electronic recordkeeping.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience supervising doctoral-level trainees.
  • Fluency in Spanish or another language relevant to our client population is a plus.
  • Cultural competence and commitment to equity and inclusion are essential.

Salary Range: $54,000 - $58,800

Standard Weekly Hours: 21 hours per week
