The Beedie School Alumni and External Engagement is a small unit consisting of the Director and the Coordinator. This small team of 2 works closely with all of the Beedie Program units, University Advancement and Marketing and Communications to coordinate Beedie School events. Working closely with the Director, the position manages the alumni and stakeholder data and provides detailed analysis to support the alumni and community engagement strategy.

About the Role

The Alumni and External Relations Coordinator supports the development and implementation of strategies to engage alumni, donors, and external stakeholders. The role is responsible for coordinating initiatives that enhance the School's reputation, strengthen community and alumni connections, and support strategic goals related to student recruitment, donor stewardship, and partnership development. The Coordinator works with internal departments, faculty, and staff to plan and deliver alumni and community engagement initiatives, which include supporting events, targeted outreach, and strategic communications that build lasting relationships and highlight Beedie's strengths in teaching, research, and student success. The role contributes to the university's broader strategic priorities by helping attract and support students, foster alumni involvement, steward donors, and strengthen connections with industry and community partners.

The position requires a detail focused analytical individual with strong communication and event management skills. The incumbent should possess the ability to troubleshoot logistical challenges and problem solve with limited supervision and understand the importance of relationship building and building the Beedie brand.

Full Job Description 

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Communications, or a related field, with a minimum of three years of relevant experience in event coordination, stakeholder engagement, and data management, preferably within a post-secondary or similarly complex environment or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

  • Proficiency with data and relationship management tools (e.g. Blackbaud, Salesforce, Microsoft Office). Familiarity with Tableau is an asset. 
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills with ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects while meeting deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, while contributing effectively to team goals.
  • Strong written, verbal and presentation skills; able to tailor messaging for a range of audiences.
