About The Team:About the Company: We have been engaged by our client, an established and growing construction firm in Montgomery County to help them find their next Controller.
About the Role: Are you an experienced financial leader passionate about driving operational excellence who can oversee and enhance its finance and accounting functions? This is a great opportunity to join a collaborative team and help shape the financial strategy and operations of a dynamic, growing firm.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting processes
- Collaborate closely with leadership on budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning
- Coordinate with independent auditors on annual reviews
- Administer and manage employee benefits and ensure compliance with relevant regulations
- Guide and mentor accounting and finance team members, fostering professional growth
- Drive process improvements across purchasing, invoicing, cash flow, payroll, and other financial operations
- Ensure timely and accurate tax filings across multiple state jurisdictions
- Partner across departments to support data-driven decision making and operational efficiency
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- 5–10 years of progressive experience in financial leadership within the construction industry
Required Skills:
- Proficiency with financial systems, ideally Timberline, plus solid MS Office skills
- Strong leadership, mentoring, and team development skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Demonstrated track record of improving processes and ensuring financial accuracy and compliance
