This position is responsible for all maintenance required for the central heating plant and the safe and efficient a operation and maintenance of the heat distributions systems, reducing stations, central chillers and air-conditioning equipment and other associated HVACR equipment throughout the CUA campus. This includes: Water Source Heat Pumps, Package DX units, VRF Units, Rotary Chillers, Reciprocating Chillers
and Centravac Water Cooled Chillers.
The projected hourly pay range for this position which represents the full range of anticipated compensation is: $37.51/hr.
Responsibilities:- Perform maintenance and repairs to various HVACR systems across the campus during the period the central plant is not in operation.
- Daily recording of all data/readings for all plant equipment and building low pressure steam boilers including water treatment program, CFC logs and all other logs as required by DOB or university.
- Maintain all pumps and auxiliaries in proper operating condition
- Maintain all required logs and records
- Maintain the proper water treatment program including performance of tests and keeping logs
- Maintenance and operations of chillers and cooling towers throughout the campus
- Ability to troubleshoot and repair motor starters and various control circuits for equipment
- Perform maintenance of low-pressure boilers located around campus
- Receive, complete and update work orders in eMaintenance
- Must participate in any scheduled training seminars or classes as may be arranged
- Performs at all times within the Policies and Procedures as outlined by the University and other Federal or local regulatory agencies
- High School Diploma or G.E.D.
- 3-5 years of experience in the HVACR Field
A valid District of Columbia Third Class Engineer’s License
A valid drivers license from applicable state of residence, with no DWI record (subject to verification).
A valid EPA CFC certification Universal Class.
- Demonstrated ability to successfully operate and maintain HVACR equipment and systems including the centralized Energy Management System (EMS) in a safe and efficient manner.
