About the Department

We are seeking two friendly, flexible part time liquor store clerks for our municipal liquor store in Robbinsdale, MN.

These positions will need to be available between 15 and 25 hours per week.  At least one weekend shift is typically required, as well as some evenings.  Positions are eligible for paid sick leave and paid vacation (vacation accrual only if the employee is regularly scheduled to work 20 hours per week or more).  There is also incentive pay for working during City holidays.

Proceeds from liquor store sales benefit the City of Robbinsdale Parks department, enriching our community.

Position Objective:
The primary role of this position is the sales of liquor, beer, and wine, while providing excellent customer service. Additionally, the position involves restocking the store and maintaining cleanliness.

Position Duties

Professional/Technical Duties and Responsibilities:

• Perform liquor, beer, and wine sales transactions.
• Assist customers with inquiries and provide excellent customer service.
• Restock shelves and ensure merchandise is properly displayed.
• Maintain cleanliness by sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and dusting the store.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Proficient in customer service and handling customer inquiries.
• Knowledgeable in liquor, beer, and wine products.
• Skilled in money handling and cash register operation.
• Ability to restock merchandise efficiently and maintain store cleanliness.
• Strong problem-solving skills, particularly in interactions with customers and technology.
• Teamwork skills to manage busy times and prevent theft.

Education and Experience:

• High School Diploma or GED
• Must be 21 years of age or older

Other Qualifications

Physical Requirements:
This position requires the ability to stand for long periods, lift and carry items up to 40 pounds, and perform repetitive tasks such as stocking shelves and cleaning. 
 
Working Conditions:
The Liquor Store Clerk works in a retail environment that may include varying temperatures and exposure to different cleaning chemicals. The position may involve working evenings, weekends, and holidays. The job requires interacting with customers regularly and handling potentially stressful situations, such as handling difficult customers or managing a high volume of sales during peak times.
