The Courtyard Newark - University of Delaware has an immediate opening for Guest Service Representatives with dynamic personalities and strong technical skills for a very busy Front Desk. We are an award-winning, highly-reputable hotel with a diverse customer base that requires top-notch customer service.

Responsibilities
Interested candidates for this position must be able to...
- To work a flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays, and varied shifts, as required to meet the needs of the Company’s business operations
- Maintain complete knowledge at all times of:
- All hotel features/services, hours of operation.
- All room types, numbers, layout, decor, appointments and location.
- All room rates, special packages and promotions.
- Daily house count and expected arrivals/departures.
- Room availability status for any given day.
- Scheduled daily group activities.
- Yield management strategies that are in place.
- Hotel and departmental policies and procedures.
- Obtain assigned bank and ensure accuracy of contracted monies. Keep bank secure at all times.
- Answer department telephone within 3 rings, using correct greeting and telephone etiquette.
- Process all guest check-ins according to established hotel requirements.
- Manage guest complaints, ensuring guest satisfaction. Document all guest requests, complaints or problems immediately and notify designated department/personnel for resolving the situation. Follow up to ensure completion and guest satisfaction.
- Generate, print and distribute daily reports to designated departments/personnel.
- Resolve discrepancies on the room status report with Housekeeping.
- Process all check-outs according to established hotel requirements.
- Satisfactorily communicate with guests, management, and co-workers to their understanding.
- Adhere to payment, cash handling and credit policies/procedures.
- Complete other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Interested candidates for this position must have...
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum one year customer service experience; previous hotel experience preferred.
- Relevant computer experience.
- Knowledge of local activities and attractions appropriate for clientele.
- Demonstrated problem-solving abilities.
- Strong multi-tasking skills in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to follow directions and work both independently and with a team.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays, and varied shifts.
- Prior Marriott experience a plus.
